I updated the software from the Motorola site and all was fine. I decided to change the skin from the setup and the first change was ok but I wanted another so I changed it again. Uh uh! The screen went white then black and stayed that way. The phone works, I can send and recieve calls but a black screen. Any ideas?

I put a bad skin and that happand to me, but what i do to fix that is use "Skiman" a.k.a "Skin Manager"..if you don't have it, then download the newest version..or maybe that's what you used to put the skin on your phone...Anyway, just open "skiman" and then plug your phone in, but make sure that skiman is open before pluging in your phone..I don't know why but it seems to work better that way..Then after it loads the skins on your phone, pick one that is an original skin that came with the phone from the list or use a skin that never made the screen go blank(Tip: The skin that is currently set on the phone should have a tick infront it's name) ..Then after clicking it, just click "More" in Skiman and then click "Set as active"..once you have done that just click more again and click "Restart phone"..and then your done. :D..Oh and if you still see the bad "Bad Skin" showing up when your in skins when useing the phone but skiman won't read it when on the computer, just download the same skin and install it back onto the phone..most likely the phone itself will show the skins name but skiman wont if it's currupted..so reinstall the bad skin and then delete it right after or whenever you have time and it should remove all the bad skins files from your phone..this would be a smart move cause if you don't do this, then someone might play around with your phone and select the "Bad skin" again and then you'll have to start from scratch.
Practically, you can't download skins directly from any wap site for mobile ....... like other handsets such as sony ericson, nokia etc.
For that you need a software called "P2K Commander V-4.0" and its asociated driver. You also need a skin file. The skin file for motorola V3i can normally be obtained in a .zip file format. This zip file have one .ski file and normally have 14 .dat file.
You have to copied all the .dat files and one .ski file in the mobile's skin folder for one skin.
Remembered , your old moto skin folder should not be deleted at any cost. 'cause the new skin can use your old skin file....
Hai dud,
You can do it
1. Download P2K commander and its associated driver
2. Install it on your system and run it in tasjbar.
3. Then also download Skiman in which you can insert your favorite skin, add pictures or delete, whatever!
4. After successfully installing P2K commander & all associated drivers connect ur mobile and click on Skiman it will pair ur cellphone.
5. In Skiman manager,Click on -->install-->(if any menu options come up then just click OK-->),directs u to a folder, select & click ur skin-->rest the software will do the job.
6. At last from "more"-->click on "Set as active",and restart ur mobile.
7. Tada....ur mobile is now with ur favorite skin.
