I recently came across a guy whos grandfather used to fix amps, radios, and tv's. He was getting rid of all the parts andelectronic testing equiptment so I made a deal for it and ended up with all kinds of tubes, tube testers, ammeters, capacitors of all sorts, you name it I got it. I would like to sell it "all" for about $700 dollars. I have checked all the testing equiptment and it all works. Fell free to contact me if anyone is interested.

Hi,

The closest substitute I could find is a 19000uF/75V from here. Of course you could also try the original parts manufacturer ELNA America Inc.

How do I access the capacitors on the bottom circuit board in Harman Kardon AVR3550? Can I get to them from underneath the unit?

Normally when you remove a unit's case everything is fixed to the base and the back. You remove the screws in the board and lift it up. See if this video helps, which is also a capacitor removal.

Wont power up.

My guess is in the desoldering-resoldering process...try to get back to every resoldered part you did. Be sure you returned the connectors to their proper terminals.
If you can trace the output circuit before the protection circuitry...try to get a near zero voltage. Any DC voltage appearing will trigger the protection - thus indicates red.
what else did I miss?...yeah! goodluck!

Hi I have a Harman Karden AVR 130 and the problem im having with it is every time i listen to music or watch movie it turns it self off and message pops up "PROTECT" I know some thing is being...

You should be able to contact Harman Karden directly on this one. If you don't see an obvious issue such as speaker wires shorting out against each other or otherwise then contact them. As long as your product is under a manufacturers warranty they should take care of ya;regardless if the store you bought it from isn't around anymore or not.
