My Goodman furnace is less than 3 years old. Occasionally, not always, but now with increased frequency, My furnace will fail ignition and go into the one hour sit and reset mode. The exhaust fan comes on, ignition stick starts glowing, I here a click, then the glow stick goes out. The furnace will not fire. After three attempts, it goes into lockout state for one hour. There is no obstruction in the exhaust stack, and I have a 6" air inlet duct that stops 18" off the floor bringing in fresh air from the attic air space into the furnace room. The attic air is cool, and the inlet pipe is relatively near a gable vent to bring in outside combustible air. The inlet duct is approximately 30" from furnace. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If your igniter comes on but no ignition, that eliminates the possibility of a bad or clogged pressure switch, high limit or flame rollout switch. Sounds to me like you have a control board, or a gas valve going bad. Could even be some loose, corroded, or faulty wiring. Before the igniter comes on the furnace does a self diagnostics to ensure everything is working, or the furnace will not make it to the igniter sequence. Inducer motor, pressure switch/s, limit controls are closed…then comes on the ignitier, gas valve opens, pilot runners and burners ignite, flame sensor detects the flame, blower comes on and all operations are working.
Hope this helps

Fan comes on, Ignition Glows but does not light the gas. GMP075-3
I have the same issue. How much would a gas valve cost approximately. anyone know - Angie
problem turns out to be a bad connection on the main plug into the circuit control board. You need to alleviate stress off the plug by the weight of the wires, in order for everything to fire good.
