Do you get a different result if you turn on the unit with the SD card not installed? If so, then you may be able to solve the problem by installing an SD card with a known good program and map file(s). In that case, obtain an SD card reader for your computer if you do not have one. If your computer can read the SD card, make a backup image of it, then install a file set on it.
If the cannot be read, then you will need to reformat it and restore the original map files or try to install a new map image file to it.
In you are unable to install good application and map files on the SD card, you may have to get a new SD card from Navigon.
With or with out the SD card in the GPS I get the same message. My laqtop doesnt recognice my gps. I backed up the SD card data just in case but if i try to install new maps on it it wont work. So... what else could i do ?
Thank you for the update base from those details it seems that this is heading to a hardware related issue.
I will ask you to do this following steps just to make sure that we do the proper way or factory reset for the unit.
Hold the power down for 6 seconds until in reboots next time you turn it on. much like the way you turned it on for the first time.
Holding the power button down again for 6 seconds again will do hard reset and will erase whatever software was entered and caused the problem. If this doesn't reset the GPS you will need to have it repaired it has a hardware fault.
Sir, Those answers you gave me are found in the internet without paying $10.00 !!!!!!! I told you already that i tried the hard reset and it didn't work. I understand how it goes but sometimes its best to just say sorry i cant help you than to try to take someone for for what they are not !
