Of course 1st of all make sure you turn of the main power to the furnace before trouble shooting. As Bob has stated it could be loose connections. The fuse block could also be bad. Look to see if the copper leads where the fuse hooks into are discolored. Or if any of them in the disconnect are discolored. If it needs replaced you will probably be able to squeeze them together pretty easy. Sometimes you can also take some fine sandpaper and clean them good and that might help.

The wiring from the main distribution panel to the disconnect box may have a loose connection at the lugs. Fuses and breakers work by heating up when there is to much amp draw, loose connections will also cause heating of the fuses and breakers. Check the connections at the breaker panel, disconnect box with the fuses, and at the unit connections, also the terminal connections at the heater.
