Find a well water person in your area that can help you with the sulfur problem.

They may recommend a filter system, or they may suggest a air rader for your well, what this does is it mixes air with the water before your system gets its and the sulfur fouls out and drops out in your well.

Get a guarantee and give it some time, with a money back guarantee, or a couple year warranty.

THey may not be able to solve your problem, a Friend had to dig a new well deeper.

Top load washer smells like rotten eggs when water is draining into tub

As someone who has had a deep well drilled and found water, but water contaminated with iron and sulfur, I can tell you first hand about the rotten egg smell. The water softener will remove the iron that can turn clothes orange, but doesn't do anything to remove the rotten egg odor. You will need a charcoal (carbon) water filter to eliminate the sulfur smell.

Should you use anything more than water to refresh clothing with this steamer

I personally use a 1/4 cup of fabric softener in mine. It leaves the clothes feeling like they came out of the dryer. this wont damage the steamer or the clothing you are steaming. And they smell great too

Our Maytag washer emit a rotten egg smell and the wet clothes also come out with this smell. What is causing this and how do we fix this issue?

Sounds like a sulfur-eating bacteria, you're smelling hydrogen sulfide. Are you on city water or do you have a well? Sulfur-eating bacteria can live in a well (as can iron-eating bacteria) and it might find a happy home in a washing machine too.

Since they live in an acidic environment (the hydrogen sulfide, dissolved in water, makes an acid) I would try a caustic first- bleach would be a good first bet.

If you have a well and the bacteria came from it then it'll come back. Consult with a local well drilling operation, they can tell you if you have bacteria in your well and how to deal with it in a locally acceptable fashion.

Our clothes are coming out of the washer with a rotten smell. I have tried Tied Washing Machine cleaner and the vinegar/soda mix...but no change.

Try running a cycle, at highest level, with hot water. When the tub is about ready to drain, connect the drain hose to a water hose, and let it drain through the water hose to outside. See if the water has a smell / any "floaties" that may indicate a mold / mildew growing inside the agitator. You can try to over fill (fill to highest level, then add water using a bucket) with water and add a large amount of bleach. Let it sit overnight, and run a few cycles to rinse out the bleach residue

Have you noticed a similar smell from the hot water when taking a shower / doing dishes / washing hands? You could have bacteria growing in your water heater. Shocking it (with granulized bleach - see owners manual) will help clear this up. If you are on a well, you may also be getting sulfur or Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) into your well water as well.

Clothes smell like mildew

Run a wash cycle (no clothes), with a cup of baking soda, regular detergent and hot water. Leave the door open after each wash day to dry the interior which helps prevent mildew returning.

Clothes smell bad in my GE front loader.  It's one of the first models they came out with - about 3 years old.  Thanks.

Run the unit through a cycle with HOT water and a small box of baking soda plus detergent--no clothes. There are a number of cleaning products on the market that do the same thing (but more expensive). Redo this whenever you notice the smell returning.

My dryer smells like sulfur . The clothes smell

Run a couple of hot washes with no clothes in the machine

Before you do dissolve some Soda Crystals in 2 liters of hot water and put them into the machine by hand.

Your machine smells because new powders wash at lower settings and do not contain bleaches and soda to kill off the grease which is washed off the clothes

My water has been smelling of sulfur. The clothes I was end up smelling of BO after being worn for only a short time. It isnt that the person is smell it is the clothing. Is there something to be added to...

I found that WasherFresh worked better then the Affresh.  What I really did not like is you cannot touch the Affresh tablets, WasherFresh is contained in a pouch and is not harmful to touch, because of the disolving pouch containing the chemicals.  Also after reading the package the chemicals are not harmful to the environment.
WasherFresh removed the odor causing buildup and I now use it monthly as a preventive maintenance.

Clothes smell musty

The big door seal is probably the problem. Put on gloves and using a solution of Laundry detregent and hot water and rags, carefully wipe clean all the folds of the seal. It will be icky. Next run a cycle with some detergent and oxyclean or bleach if you have it.

Especially during warm weather, damp clothing left in a front loader mildew slightly very quickly- you can't really see much but you can smell it! So get the clothes in to the dryer immediately. You'll want to relaunder the smelly clothing after you have cleaned the washer.

Good luck to you and Thank You using FiX YA!
