every car seat is very different, you will need to read the owners manual if you do not have one anymore here is the email to the manufacture to send for one
[email protected]in general though most seats have a slot under the seat where the baby's legs would go for the rear facing installation which, is required by this infant seat, but to be used safely please please consult the owners manual and rad it for sure, as if not put in properly your child can be seriously injured or killed in the case of an accident
your best bet if you need it in now, is to find a car seat check place near you and have them install it properly, they will also show you how to do it properly too
this link should help
http://www.seatcheck.org/
most police stations and dealerships will do it for you on appointment only basis so contact them as well
just make sure if you go to a car seat check you have your vehicle's owners manual as they / you should refer to it for proper seating of carseats in your vehicle generally center rear is the safest for infants, but not all cars have a LATCH hook up in the center, in which case if they are only on the sides, the drivers side is much safer then the passengers side seating position.
