The bucket is full

I have a hose connected to drain on a constant basis. The red light indicating the bucket of full is on and this stops the unit from working. I emptied the bucket and replugged the unit in and reconnected the draining hose. After turning the unit on for 5 seconds the red 'bucket full light' goes on and the unit stops.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

Your bucket full switch may be defective. If you are capable, bypass it since you are draining to another place other than the bucket.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

Same problem with Goldstar model DH404EY7 -- stop code 01 on startup, bucket full light blinks (drains to floor).

Replaced the main controller board to fix it.

For my model dehumidifer the part # is 6871A20888A, and cost $77.44 (not counting shipping) from Appliance Factory Parts. The Appliance Factory Parts web site also provides parts breakdown (exploded parts diagram) diagrams and service manuals in PDF form.

SOURCE: Attached a pump to drain collected water. The

the water should still collect into the tank. the dehumidifier had a float switch that shut the unit off when the tank is full. In turn it should have a second switch, probably a float switch that turns the pump on and off so that the pump doesnt continue to run when there is no moisture in the tank

SOURCE: Hose line is no longer draining the unit, bucket fills instead

Sounds like the connector hoae came off inside the machine . Look up inside the machine where the bucket would go and you should see where the hose attaches to the condensate drain . It might have pulled off .

Why would the system keep running, all the time, filling up bucket, then leaking onto floor? What is my next step?

There is supposed to be an auto-shutoff float in the bucket to prevent overfilling of the bucket. You have either removed it or it is defective. The fact that it runs constantly has more to do with the humidity and the setting that you have the unit set to, Obviously there is adequate humidity in the space or the bucket would not fill. You need to look for, find, and repair the shut-off float, or, if possible, some units allow you to connect a drain hose either to the bucket or directly to the unit to drain the water to a drain. If you choose this option, remember that the hose must remain lower than the top of the bucket or it will not drain properly and the bucket will still overflow.

I HAVE AIDYLIS DEHUMIDIFIER#0526011 THAT WHEN HOOKED UP WITH A FLOOR DRAIN STILL LETS WATER GO DOWN INTO THE CATCH BUCKET AND NOT COMPLEATLY OUT THE DRAIN

id ck the drain hose connection for build up of fouling material , the symptom you describe usually occurs when the hose cant drain all the water the machine makes

a wet/dry vac is perfect for this (set to wet) and some even allow you to turn airflow around to blow air as well , this is perfect to clear a stopped up hose (point end into bucket)

Our bucket full light is on but we only have a hose running out to the drain. My husband shorted out that circuit but the light still comes on and we can't turn on the unit. Any help with this? Thanks

The reason the light cam of the first time was because the either the attached hose is clogged or the hose connection of the unit is clogged. When this happens, the bucket full light comes ON, because of the clog or the bucket was not reinstalled properly and didn't trip the bucket, safety removal, trigger switch. Be sure the bucket is reinstalled so the the Top and Bottom fit squarely into the bucket holder.

Hopefully, your husband can undo what he's already done, clear the clogs and the unit may run again, as it should.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I own a Whirlpool Dehumidifer Model Number AD 70USS1. I have a drain hose connected to the unit, however, recently the unit's internal collection bucket fills with water to the point that the...

superstee - You're having to empty it because either the drain hose you have connected to the unit is clogged or the drain hole a the hose connection is clogged. Therefor, the water is drained into the tank, rather than the drain hose. Also, the drain hose would not be any longer than 5' and must drain down, as the dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies totally on gravity.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If clear check the drain hose connection, using an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. Gingerly work past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The while slowly pulling it out, rotate the Zip Tie. This will dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie removal, be prepared for some water to follow. CAUTION: BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE TURN THE MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT.

The above should solve the problem for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have an LHD6594EBL dehumidifier that won't run and it keeps saying the bucket is full but the bucket is empty, we have a hose attached and don't use the bucket,

Sue, if you haven't noticed any water draining from the hose recently, it may be that the hose connection and tubing of the unit are clogged and the drained water pressure is causing the unit to show "Bucket Full." Also, if the bucket is not properly in place, whether you use the drain hose or not, it will cause the unit to stop functioning. You know how to correct that, so I won't go into detail on that issue.

To unclog the drain, you will need an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers though) that will fit into the hose connection. TURN THE UNIT OFF AND UNPLUG IT. Then carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. You will have to carefully work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, while rotating it, slowly pull it out and be prepared for some water to follow.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

The dehumidifier will not run. It has power to the control panel but the "bucket full" light is flashing RED. We have a hose hooked up to the unit to drain the water and we have check the bucket...

Generally, the buckets on these units can be a little finicky. Especially, if the bucket is not installed properly. In other words, if the bucket doesn't trip the safety switch, when it's out in place and the "bucket full" indicator will remain on and the unit will not run. I suspect the hose attached to the bucket may have gotten the bucket slightly out of place and it's not triggering the safety switch. Turn the unit off, and reinstall the bucket,. Then turn the unit back ON. Make sure there is a little slack in the hose from the unit to the where ever you're draining the water to. In other words, the hose should not be pulling on the bucket.

As I said, they can be a little finicky, so be patient reinstalling the bucket. As it may take several tries, before you get it right.

Hope this helps solve the problem.

There was a hose connected somewhere on the bottom of our Maytag dehumidifier. It was leaking and I pulled it out. Now the indicator light is on and it beeps showing the bucket is full. How can I get it to...

Most likely the drain tube usually a garden hose connector on the condensation tank. My guess is the drain tube has broken free of the holding tank mabe from someone accedently pulling on it? That would explain the "bucket full message"
Take a real good look at the bucket at the rear of the unit see if something there is broken off. You can also look at the end of the hose to see if there is something in there, /my guess is that u need a new condensation collection bucket that will have the connection on it for the hose.
