The turntable goes into a Phono preamp in a amp or receiver then the amp or receiver will have the terminals for the speakers. The Turntable by itself can not drive speakers. It is a part of a stereo system.

There is just the Left(white wire) Right(red wire) and a black ground cable. Make sure you are using the PHONO input, or the sound will be very low and distorted. there is a motor under the turn table that spins that tray.now some more expensive units would allow you to turn off the turn table if user wanted to,so check that out .but if not and its under warenty call a sears or any servicer that repairs you brand under warenty

some platters will not begin to spin until the tonearm is lifted up from the rest and over to where the record is, then it starts spinning.

alternately the belt may have come off.
