Without having the model number (it starts with 117-***) I can't send the proper link, but here's the link to the Century 80 just a newer model but almost the same as the 70:

Hope it works for you. Have a great day.

How old is a 70 century flux welder

It should be stamped in ink somewhere inside of the cabinet.

Lincoln bought out Century and has some support available. If you need a manual you will have to contact Lincoln via email, they do not have it on thier list of downloadable manuals, even though some others are listed.

If you are concerned about not getting consumables for it, the liners are common to other machines, the guns are most often made by by Tweco, and as long as the machine is not abused, it can last for many decades. I have a Century Welder among a few, and it has worked well for me, and I think it is a model 70 as well: which I purchased new about 1998, and that model should date to about 1990. The ink stamp would be the definitive date your machine was made.

What would be the appropiate extension cord size for a Century 70 wire welder. Need at least a 50', possibly 100'.

10/3 will give better performance and reliability.

12/3 is okay for up to about 20 feet. Marginal at best at 50 feet. Bad news at 100 feet due to voltage drop.

I have a century powermate 70 mig welder and using .30 fluxcore wire. the machine says that it is gasless also. the machine will not weld right. is this the right wire or what could be wrong?

Check that your ground clamp connection to the weldment is secure (tight).
you can weld with the shielding gas, or without.
by not welding right, what exactly do you mean?
