Sony KF60WE610 We've had this unit for 4 years and I know the bulb will need to be replaced soon. The brightness is cranked all the way up and it's been 4 years. The red replace lamp light has not lit up yet. However recently all high def video input (DIV & component connection) went black simultaneously. (Inputs 1-4 work fine 5-7 are now black) Might the lamp replacement cure the problem with Hi-Def? Or is it probably going to be more costly and complicated. Any advise or input would be appreciated. Best regards

    As a follow up.

I replaced the lamp but this didn't resolve the issue with the high def inputs.

    Back to the drawing board.

SOURCE: Won't piwer on

Tried to turn it on? Sounds like you need to replace the lamp. However, I got an additional week out of my unit. Although poorly dimmed and the red Lamp light blinked constantly for that one week, at least it gave me enough warning to seek out a replacement. But so long as you're not mistaking the Power/Standby or Timer light for the Lamp light then I would have to agree with you. http://store.l-f-l.com/prod/A-1606-034-B Includes shipping to the United States and no sales tax outside of California.

SOURCE: sony kf60we610 brightness problems

The problem might be with the circuitry driving the LCD screen. Since the back lighting blub has been changed the only thing that could cause this issue would be the screen brightness which is controlled by the LCD circuitry. You will need the schematic to aid you in the measuring of these voltage values.

Brightness problems with sony kf-50we610

This is typical for a set that uses a lamp, as the lamp needs to warm up.

If it is taking longer than normal to brighten up, then your lamp could just be aging and needs replaced.

How do I know if I need a new lamp?

Hi,
Yes, if you have not replaced the lamp since you purchased this TV.
Lamps usually last about 6000 hours.
I've seen lamps last much longer than 6000Hrs, it all depends on the usage.
Remove the lamp from the TV and do a visual inspection, see if there's a crack on the glass or the bulb.
If the TV is few years old then the Lamp may be bad.

Buy original Lamp: 800 638-3328

DO NOT BUY the cheap lamp from ebay

Good luck to you.

Sony kf-60WE610 green light flashing consistently

Hi,

The symptoms you've mentioned is an indication that the lamp needs to replaced because it is already burnt out. You've said that the lamp was replaced 3+ years ago, then you have to replaced it with new one to resolve the issue.

I have a sony kf-60we610 2004 and the bulb is good, but the tv doesn't stay as bright as it use to and I have the brightness max out. any ideas?

IF the lamp has been in the set for a while it may be your problem---some of these sets before the lamp fails the picture will get darker--lamp will look ok but can cause this trouble.

If you replaced it at some time with a "Generic" replacement other than an Original Sony--that can also be the trouble.

Lamp life is about 2,000 hours and time can pass quickly.

Let me know if I can help--I am here to help.
