Thank you for posting your solution on Fixya.com. The problem you have described is triggered by what is known as fault protection circuit. It would be of great help if you can tell me whether the LED blinks in between each pause. This is a self-test diagnostic which pin-points us to the source of the problem.

THERES 6 SIOW BOINKS THEN 3 FAST

Thats just what I needed. That confirms that this is a power supply related problem. It is usualy triggered by overload excerted on a circuit, caused by faulty capacitors more often than not. If you wish to try a component level repair you will need good electronics/soldering skills. Otherwise we will just have to swap the board, which should run you about 75-100$. Let me know how you wish to proceed so that I can guide you as required,

CAN YOU GIVE US THE BOARD #

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2011

Actually the best way to obtain the part number is from the board itself. This is because there will usually be several versions of the same part and the only way to get the exact replacement is through the part number printed on the board. Look for a 12-digit number usually starting with 99 and/or 10 character one starting with LJ. Please get me this info and I will find you the board.

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. If the blinks continues, and non-stop, the fault should be with its main system control IC, and with the memory IC.

How do you remove the capacitors for a 50pf 9631d/37,and when reinstalling the new ones is there a certain solder i need to get

The capacitors are remove by melting the solder until it becomes soft and if you use solder braid it's much easier. The kind of solder to use should be lead free or just ask for leaded 63/37 solder wire. radio shack carries it.
I would suggest to google how to solder to have an idea before you replace the capacitors.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Hi,if your tv is around 3-4 yrs and you used it for around 6000-8000 hrs it might be time to replace the lamp.Normally you get red lamp indicator and shuts off and on.The lamp you will need is the xl-2100 and you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=xl-2100 Good luck and God bless you!

Hi I have an LG LCD tv and this morning it just went dead, as if there is no power getting to it at all. The electric supply is ok Regards BMcD

If it is completely dead (no standby light, flashing LED blinks), the power supply failed. Replace the Power Supply board to fix.

Measure the connector from the logic board to the power supply the second pin from the left it will say Vs_ On if the set has 3.1 volts the problem is the SSB or the logic board. On the logic board there should be a solid led and a flashing led that shown that data id flowing and the problem is the SSB. The SSB is easy to replace just remember what you tokk loose and from where. You probely will save money that way. If the set is in warranty or just out of warranty contact Philips 1-888-744-5477 and see what they can do first.
