Resetting it will not unlock it. You need to use the security code to unlock it. If you changed the security code when you received the phone, only that code will unlock it.
If you did not, the 4 digit code is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number.
If it's the 6 digit code, and you did not change it, you'll need to contact Metro PCS for their default code. If you did change it, you'll need to contact Metro PCS to walk you through unlocking it, if they can.
Then, don't let the kids get ahold of the phone, or remove it needing a code to lock it.

I Hoped This Helped You, So Just Take It Into Metro And They Should Send You A New Phone Within 4-5 Buisness Days.
