You need to fill in (and ponder) the details of how it receives its audio from the unnamed source. Bass Management settings in a receiver control that. Then there are usually test tones to verify all is well. Crack the manuals open and read them. A simple test of just the subwoofer would be to feed a CD player program signal directly to its Line Level input. If its amp is working you'll hear only the low bass. If it works you need to look back at the receiver (source) settings.

SOURCE: I have a cerwin vega subwoofer that keeps blowing the fuse

Take a look at the Voltage selector switch (if one is existing). It may be switched at the wrong position. In that case, I hope that the power supply is not burned out (if it is set at the wrong position).

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Cerwin-Vega! CLSC-12S Subwoofer. How do I bypass the shuttle switch on clsc-12s. Subwoofer

There are many possibilities. The relay control transistor may have defective that is causing permanent switch to relay. Relay may have stuck. The relay switch may have heavy carbon deposit on contacts. It needs detailed troubleshooting. I tried to find schematic diagram or service manual but could not find otherwise I could share for your help.

Got a cerwin vega cls 12s keeps blowing fuses. It has been well kept and all the connections are in the right place. It pop's before the light can come on. How do I fix, radio shack just down the road.

Hi,
by the sounds of it the internal transformer could be duff. You need to take readings from the transformer using a multimeter to check correct voltages are coming out of the transformer to their destinations. I would also chek the capacitors and other components on the chain pre and post transformer to make sure none of them are damaged too.

I own a CERWIN-VEGA V-12S 12" Front Firing V

You may have only messed up the crossover circuit. Try changing the crossover frequency and see if hte behavior changes. If so, then the parts cost should be minimal. If the behaviorr remains the same, there will need to be more investigation done internally. This is not a problem that is likely to be easily resolved remotely. Can you update this with your location? I may be able to provide a recommendation for a service shop.

When playing on high volume the treble dissapear. I have a 2.6kw Cerwin amp. And Clsc 215 speakers. No bi- wire on my speakers. When I lower the volume the treble returnes. What is wrong???

Sounds like your overpowering the horns and the circuit breaker is tripping to prevent them from blowing. You are running more power then they can handle. You can turn down the volume or will have to purchase higher wattage horns...

You have several ranges of options.

1) Contact Cerwin-Vega customer service: http://www.cerwin-vega.com/

2) Do a google search on "cerwin vega speaker replacement". You will find companies both that offer repair or repair kits (e.g., www.simplyspeakers.com) or sell replacements. Contact them - they have the expertise to tell you which of their products are most suitable for your model.

Hits the brown note too often....

I recommend wearing these.

Alternatively, install a high-pass filter into the signal path to remove anything below 20Hz.
