We have a local cable service and when I called about 1 channel that has a black box that takes up about 1/2 or less of the picture they said it was the picture in picture -- to refer to the manual on how to fix it -- our manual mentions nothing about picture in picture or how to fix it... Of course, this is one of our favorite channels to watch -- any suggestions? The manual lists on the front KV-13M10, KV-MT1300, KV-14R10, KV-1460R, K-20M10, K20S10, KV-MT2000, KV-ST2050, KV-21R10, KV-21RS10, KV-2180R, KV-2190RS. Not sure which one is our model...
On your sony tv (not cable) remote - hit the MENU button, then scroll right to SETUP on the screen - the first choice - caption vision - is probably set on a close caption or text - change it to off. i had the same problem - would pop up occasionally and only on certain screens. this fixed it. hope it works for you.
