I have about 10 of these in the school I work in, most of them have gone mental flickering, my solutions has been to open the covers remove the bulb and carefully using a compressor blow all the dust out..This has worked and cured them in about 6 out of 8 cases

Hi Pascoal your projector is a dlp projector by design if you scan your eyes from one side of the screen to the other quickly the colours will appear to separate or flicker, this is normal hiwever if you stare at a spot on the screen and it is still flickering its possible that the colour wheel is on its way out or there is a problem with the video input circuit in this. Ase it would have to be serviced by a qualified engineer these are not problems that can easily be fixed. I hope this helps Regards Ant

There is a good chance that the image processor is over heating due to old heat transfer paste on the heat sink attached to the end of the lense assembly, dismantle, clean and replace..... See optoma HD200x Cheers

I have temporarily fixed this issue by directing a fan at the intake vent on the side of the projector. it's gotta be the intake vent and not the exhaust.

My projector (viewsonic pj452) started flickering. When it started it would flicker once in around 5 minutes but now it happens many times in a minute. I tried resetting it from the menu and through reset...

The power supply needs to provide a constant current flow
to the lamp. Any small change or in the current will be seen as flicker
in the lamp and projected onto the screen.
Problem could be with low voltage power supply, the ballast or the
lamp it self is beginning to wear out.

I have optima projector and started flickering, green and other colors and after about 10 min. I hear a noise and the system shuts down. I seen by removing the dust it will stop flickering and once I did...

I have solved the problem (running fine for 10 days now)
I was planning to replace the bulb, but after reading the different posts, i understood it was NOT in cause.

i had to open the projector, remove and clean every part :
- the motherboard
- very dusty alim parts (radiators)
- the big fan blades (i used silicon lubricant for the rotor)
- the optical block
- the TINY RADIAL FAN IN THE OPTICAL BLOCK (very hard to clean)

advices :
1/ take pictures of what you're doing
2/ tape well the folded plastic and aluminum parts to avoid light leaks !

I have the same problem as philvo. I was watching, the projector was operating normally, I heard a snap, there was a flash of light behind me I believe, and my Mitsubishi XD300U projector went to a black and white picture. That is all it will show now. All lights show normal operation. I would like to know if it is worth getting repaired. Does anyone have any ideas?
