If the pictures are the ones you have shot without time and date stamp, you can't add them by your camera then. You only can add them by your computer.
This kind of problem occurs if camera dropped on floor that broke lens mechanism OR lens mechanism got dust particles that make it stuck. Usually lens mechanism needs to be replaced to solve the issue, however, user level try to solve the problem is to tap camera on your palm a few time gently that may release stuck lens mechanism and it start working again, if that does not help then lens assembly will be replaced. Thanks.
Its not easy to dismantle this kind of gadget, a broken gear inside or some mechanical parts of the lens assembly caused lens not to open or a motor controller itself, so better to find a cannon service center ear you.
there is a switch inside the battery cap, when it open, the switch is turning off, then switched on when it closed. the camera wouldnt turnd on, when the swich not working normally
Your problem in your lens...Try to bring service center. Cause, canon lens it for me it not easy to disassembe dan assemble it again...Different with other camera lens, like KODAK and Samsung. At sony camera "E18" can be "Turn the power off and On again" like my Sony W.35
Hey Antwon954, Before you have the camera serviced I would try a couple of things first like try blowing compressed air into the side of the lens. What this does is dislodge anything that might be obstructing the movement of the lens. If this doesn't work I would try putting the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up and hold down the shutter button, and while doing this turn the power on. If neither of these options work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician. You could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out for service. As far as how much it would cost it depends on what is causing the error, but I will say that most digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera. I hope this helps!
