Trying to wire up an electric oven. Good with electrics, normally. Sounds stupid bus there are no holes to place the wires into on the oven panel. In other words not like the speces on a plug or on the main live circut on the wall. Where do I put the wires????

Yellow/Green is Earth so 'E'. Brown is live so 'L', and Blue is neutral so 'N'.

BLUNTLY but with all due respect if you dont know this you should not be doing it. You will kill yourself or someone else some day!! This is why the law ( ref.competent person ) requires you to use an electrician. You have just shown why you are not competent.

Bypass a faulty timer unit on a stoves 720ef cooker. . . . My partner tried this today on my cooker and now there is no power to the cooker at all!! Is there a chance he's managed to do the wr

I would suggest the wrong wires were cut off and joined. If the ground wire touches the power wire a fuse or circuit breaker will blow.. Before you do anything more make sure the curcuit breaker is not blown. If it is reset it and turn the cooker back on. If the breaker blows again then it is wired wrong.

Belling cooker d841 top oven

The US National Electrical Code only mandates white (or grey) for the neutral power conductor and bare copper, green, or green with yellow stripes for the protective ground. Power will generally be black or red. 3 phase power will have three colored lines, the first is generally black or brown, the second red or orange, and the third blue or yellow..

I have a stoves cooker which was working fine until we upgraded to the seventeeth edition consumer unit and rcds. Now I have a negative earth fault.Rcd trips out, circuit is fine up to the cooker. Any...

The clue will be when the rcd trips out. If everything is switched off on the cooker with the exception of the clock when you power it up and then it trips out, it could be in the wiring to the oven from the control switch and or the wiring in the oven. The only way you are going to find this is to take the oven out of the housing and test the wiring, isolating components until you find the problem.
