Yes, the Quantaray Autofocus lens will focus automatically on the D80.

Will an auto focus Vivitar Series 1 100-400mm work on a nikon d80

Vivitar Series 1 lenses were available with a variety of lens mounts for different camera makes. If the lens has a Nikon mount then it will work on a Nikon D80. If it has some other mount then it will not fit.

Is Quantaray NF AF work with Nikon D3000

Quantaray lenses are available with a variety of mounts. Assuming you get one with a Nikon mount, then yes, it will work with a Nikon camera. However, unless the lens has a focusing motor, it will not autofocus on the D3000. Some Quantaray lenses have such a motor, some do not.

The Quantaray 70-300mm lens

Only if you get the version with the built-in autofocus motor. The D3000 lacks a mechanical AF coupling so AF lenses which need to be driven by a motor in the camera body will require manual focussing.

Either way, you're far better manually focussing the Quantaray/Tamron 70-300mm: the AF performance is very slow, very noisy and hunts around a lot to achieve focus.

Although the Quantaray and Tamron versions are identical lenses, if you have to buy this low-quality budget model then go for the Tamron: it's absolutely no better lens quality (and usually the same price), but the manufacturer's warranty from Tamron is much better than Ritz and is internationally valid. If you resell the lens then the Tamron will have some value (not much though) and the Quantaray will be near worthless as it's not so widely known, and has a poor reputation amongst those familiar with the brand.

"Cheap" isn't always the same as "good value"...

What type of lens works with this Nikon N8008s AF 35mm SLR? Thank you, Larry

Any of the Nikon Auto Focus(AF) lenses should work fine with it. There are also a number of fine aftermarket lenses made for your 8008, by Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Quantaray and others. Be sure you get the Nikon AF lenses, as they make the same lenses for Sony and Canon. You cannot use the Lenses made for another brand, as they will not fit, work right, and can damage your Nikon.

How to use auto fouse

The D40 does not have a focus motor, instead relying on a motor in the lens. This lens does not have such a focus motor, and thus will not autofocus with the D40.

My D80 will not auto focus with any of my 3 Nikkor lenses. It will fire on auto focus when you manually focus while in that auto focus mode.

Press the AF button on the top of the camera (to the right of the window) to select an AF mode & make sure the M/A (Manual / Auto focus) switch on the lens set to "A"

Can i use a Quantray AF LD 70-300 mm lens with my nikon d80? Thanks.

That depends. If the Quantaray lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, no problem, it'll work on the D80. If it has a different mount, then it won't fit onto the D80.
