I have a GE Microwave jvm1540sn1ss.Keep beeping and showing message that keypad is shorted. The replacement keypad I found online listing as $180.Is it worth it to replace it or get the new Microwave?

Hi Toan, first question is how old is the microwave? If it is less than 5 years with no other problems, then yes it's worth fixing. If it's older than 5 years or has other minor problems it might not be worth it. Check the cost of new before fixing and call a repair company in your area to compare prices. Hope that helps.

We keep getting A MESSAGE "select action 1.0lb quick defrost" which displays every 15 minutes after any function on the Advantium 120 is used.

I surmise there's a short in the Quick Defrost button on the keypad. Either the keypad has collapsed there, or some contamination has gotten in. Another possibility is a failing program memory bit in the controller chip, but a contaminated keypad seems most likely. What happens if you press and hold that button while trying to key in another instruction? Is there any change in behavior?

How do I fix a SE problem on a Samsung microwave model # smh9151w

Usually that means you have a shorted keypad, and to fix it you usually have to replace the control console/keypad assembly.

Samsung microwave displays press 1-4...

The SE indicates a short in the keypad membrane, but to cure this! the whole keypad control board should be changed if effort to resolve is decided, I would also suggest checking the pricing.

Jmc8130dds microwave died. any thoughts. previously numerous messages about locking the screen on its own.

I think it is time to replace the microwave oven, the fuse has blown and there are numerous reasons why, shorted power transformer, shorted filament winding in the magnetron, cracked high voltage diode with a high level short, and a shorted high voltage capacitor, not to mention issues with the keypad and microprocessor control board.

Unable to press buttons and message appears --SE--

The word --SE-- means systems error, caused by a short in the keypad membrane. The solution is replace the keypad to resume normal operation.
