Aiwa has discontinued the original cord for this unit. However, Aiwa is Sony's entry level line. Most Sony cords used the style that was in the shape of an oval without any notches. If this is the case you can purchase the generic version through any national public distributor such as MCM.

You can use any digital camera or camcorder in order to check the remote control. Direct the remote (press any button) in direction of camera lens. If remote works you will see the bright spot on your camera screen.
