Hi i purchased a dell 1318 laptop from china suddenly i cont install xp it,s support only win7 while trying to install xp it will display the error message like this

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop,better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages,the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. check your device manager if there is any unknown device
it means you have to install your sound and camera driver

Probably your Audio Driver isn't proper or isn't installed.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.

Uninstall any wireless drivers for have incorrectly install in device manager. Reinstall the Chipset driver over whatever is installed and then reboot. Extract the 174291 driver into a folder and manually install the wireless and it should work

Ok, all of the drivers that you need are on the dell website (dell.com), go under support, and find your model number. Download and install the recommended drivers. Good luck.

i finally succeeded installing windows xp in my dell inspiron 1318 after 3 weeks of trial and error in installing different drivers.. wheewwwww. hope this will help you. just search for the following filenames in google and please download it but if you know any free sites where i can upload the following files let me know, so i can upload it there for you to download..
