I remover the screws that attach the engine to the blade housing but will not get free so I can investigate the cord problem
SOURCE: I have lost the screws out of the hedge trimmer attachment
go to the hardware store and find screws that fit properly
SOURCE: how do you sharpen the hedge trimmer
DREMEL STONE WORKS THE BEST. THEY SUGGEST TO REPLACE BLADES
SOURCE: sharpen hedge trimmer blade??
My trick is to make sure that I always lube the blades after each session with a 3/4 engine oil + 1/4 kerosene mix - making sure that every tooth gets a drops or 2, then run it for a seconds to spread the oil & leave the blades overlapping. Doing this allows the blades to self sharpen I've found. 2 stroke oil , unmixed is about the perfect viscosity aswell.
SOURCE: homelite hedge trimmer , motor runs but blades do
Had the same problem: when I turn on the trimmer, the motor would hum but the blades won't move.
What I did:
1. Sprayed a ton of wd40 between the blades
2. Took a screwdriver and kinda wedged it between the blades to get them unstuck. Also removed some guck between the blades.
And it worked!
