SOURCE: sharpen hedge trimmer blade??

My trick is to make sure that I always lube the blades after each session with a 3/4 engine oil + 1/4 kerosene mix - making sure that every tooth gets a drops or 2, then run it for a seconds to spread the oil & leave the blades overlapping. Doing this allows the blades to self sharpen I've found. 2 stroke oil , unmixed is about the perfect viscosity aswell.

SOURCE: homelite hedge trimmer , motor runs but blades do

Had the same problem: when I turn on the trimmer, the motor would hum but the blades won't move.
What I did:
1. Sprayed a ton of wd40 between the blades
2. Took a screwdriver and kinda wedged it between the blades to get them unstuck. Also removed some guck between the blades.
And it worked!

Bosch electric hedge trimmer PHS 46G - stops when cord bends, have purchased a new power cord. Have removed all the screws in the body case, and the front handle and sheild, but does not want to break...

The proceedings are as follows: 1. on the PHS 46 G release all Phillips screws. 2. On the underside of the trimmer, remove the metal cover.(4 screws). 3. Slide the scissors form as far as possible to the front , then we see two more small Phillips screws . Loosen these screws too. Now, the entire blade detaches from the ex-center gear. 4. The housing can well be apart!

How do i replace the pull cord on the ht-22 homelite gas hedge trimmer.I can not find the manual on line.......

Remove the housing with the coil in it. Remove the screw on it, its the screw with about 3/8 washer on it. It is where the old rope was hooked up, and should still have a piece of it under the washer. It has a D shaped groove under it. take the new rope and burn the frays on it make it stiff and small. Turn the pulley around and around until it gets real tight, and align the hole in the pulley with the hole in the shroud. Take a c clamp or visegrips and clamp it in place if you can. I just hold it, then feed the rope through the hole in the shroud and pulley and rap it round D shape groove. Replace the screw and washer. Tighten it up then let go of pulley. It should zip up real quick and all way to the handle, and be real tight.

The cutting blade no longer moves, even when it is attached to the drive engine and the engine is running at high rpms. I think some kind of gear inside must be stripped out.

Mine was doing the same thing so I took the gear box cover off made sure it would still rotate then I packed it full of gear grease. That did the trick it runs perfect now. Mike

Cutting blade doesn't move

a homelite is disposable, get a new one. You can pull it apart and see what broke and how much the new parts are. worst case, get the new one.
