Hi,

FixYa is not affiliated with LG or with any particular manufacturer. This site is a community of techs who provide support and assistance to most technical problems. The members are volunteers all over the globe with a wide spectrum of expertise.

To your concern, a couple of suggestions:

  • try the local LG (LG Philippines #15 Francisco Legaspi St Maybunga Pasif City, tel nos: 641-4181 to 85, fax 641-2656, Service or online support;
  • if you could try again a reputable electronics service center/shop, pls mention for them to look at the CCF )cold cathode florescent) lamps, the inverter and/or the main board;
  • the blinking light is significant, it could indicate loss of video signal or internal protection kicking in;
  • possibly heat related, check for any of the capacitor bulging or leaking.
If they would reference a service manual or a schematic diagram, pls relay that it is chassis CL-82. Foremost to check would be for the presence of both the 12 and 5 volts,.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Flatron LCD Montor to a Dell Dimension XPS T500

> out of date?

Are you sure that it is "out of DATE" ???

Reconnect your old monitor.
Set the screen-resolution to 800-by-600 at 60 Hertz.
Shutdown.
Connect the new monitor.
Reboot.
The new monitor will be detected, and will run at 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.
Change the screen-resolution to some higher value that both the new monitor, and your older video-card, will allow.

Why does my LG flatron 1953T LCD monitor (19') goes white

Because the fuse on scaler PCB is blown. Open the monitor, open metal cover, disconnect all cables coming between display and boards, take the chassis off the display.
On back side of display you will see metal cover, mounted with tiny screws, take them off. Unscrew the board also and carefully tilt it up. Observe tiny chip fuse (referenced F1 or FU1 or something with "F") somewhere nearby the connector, ring it, replace it with solder drop.
Take everything back together.

Cable advice...

There's an adapter cable required to go from the Mac's external monitor connector to a standard VGA plug. You can see what it looks like here at the Apple Store site. Once you have the adapter you can use a plain old monitor cable with VGA plugs at both ends to connect your Flatron.

No picture

Start with the basics - Replug in the monitor on both ends, try another monitor if possible on your computer - It may have failed on you.

Are you sure the computer is actually booting?? Can you hear the usual startup noises?
