On my scanner, I feed the documents on the ADF feeder (paper feeder) and when it finishes one scan, I tell it to continue. It will scan all you docs and put it in on file that you can send as one attachment.

Well, if you need documentation on your hp product, just go to the hp website; www.hp.com and when the page opens, click on the 'Support & Drivers' link near the top of the page, and then follow the links to what you need to download, be it drivers or manuals or even faq's on your product. How to use my hp photosmart C5280 All in One scanner unsing mac leopard

When you install the Full Feature software for your printer, you receive the HP Photosmart Studio imaging software and the HP Utility printer management software. You can use either of these programs to scan, and can create custom settings in both.

In general, use HP Photosmart Studio to scan pictures if you want to edit them to adjust color, crop, remove red eye, etc. Use HP Utility to set up scan tasks you use often, such as scanning to a certain folder or software application, or attaching the scanned item to an email. If your printer has a display, you also use HP Utility to designate which scan tasks should appear on the printer display menu when you start a scan from the controls on the printer.

Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer. Turn it on. Place the item with the print side down on the scanner glass.

Use HP Photosmart Studio to start a scan: Click the HP Photosmart Studio icon in the Dock. Click the Scan button. Select your HP product in the Device Name list, if necessary, and then click Continue. From the Scan Profiles screen, click either Pictures or Documents. Click Profile Settings , and then adjust any settings in the Capture , Adjust , and Page Options (for documents) or Enhance (for pictures) tabs as appropriate. Click Scan. When prompted, select Yes or No to add another page to the scan. The scan preview opens then click Return to close the preview and save the scan. Type a name for the scan in the Save As box. Click the Format drop-down list, select the file format you want, and then click Save.

Scanning Multiple pages into one pdf

Scanning a multi-page document as a .pdf file reverts the settings for rotation, selected area, etc. to default for any pages after the first page. This applies to Mac OSX 10.3, 10.4, & 10.5. A simple, but tedious work-around is to scan each page as a separate file and easily recombine them using OSX Preview. Just open the first page, view the Sidebar, and drag-drop the additional page files into the sidebar. Save and it's all one multi-page .pdf.
