I was broiling something then finished, went to bake something ten minutes later and the f1 started flashing after beeping. I have no idea what happened the burners still work. Christmas is tomorrow no turkey in my oven...does the f1 mean fuse 1?

my oven does the same thing...some days it doesnt do it at all but like tonight it is constant. what does it mean and how do you keep it from doing it
The f1 error means the something may be wrong with the touch pad on the oven

This simple test will help determine whether the ERC
(Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error
code is present.
Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single
assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC
(Clock).
Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or
making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.
1. Disconnect power to the range
(unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It
is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please
double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from
the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short
when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually
accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Membrane touchpads don't like heat or moisture, and especially both at the same time. They suffer from what is called "silver migration", not unlike electrophoresis, the silver ions in the laminations migrate under the constant applied d.c. voltage and form "dendrites". These basically are short circuits to the microprocessor when it sees them it displays the dreaded "F1" error code. It might as well be "FU".
The greedy BAS**** appliance manufacturers KNOW THIS and love to sell $3 parts for $300. The appliance repairmen don't mind it a bit either. Oh, and you usually cant buy just the touchpad itself, you have to buy it and the whole microprocessor control board as one assembly which will set you back around
100-500 of your hard-earned dollars. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MICROPROCESSOR USUALLY, it just sees a bad touchpad with short circuits.
Now the above is bad enough, but guess what, the heat and moisture from cooking activities will cause the same kind of failure in anywhere from 3 days to a year, depending on the quality of the laminations and sealing in the touchpad itself. Most are very cheaply made.
Now you know why the professional ovens and ranges NEVER have any touchpad controls, only the "old fashioned" temp bulb in the oven hooked to a single temp dial control. Rarely goes bad, lasts for YEARS AND YEARS. Microprocessors DO NOT BELONG IN APPLIANCES, they are HOSTILE ENVIRONMENTS and most OEM manufacturers state the humidity and temp requirements for touchpads, etc. which are
exceeded in the range/oven environment, ALWAYS. Demand appliances WITHOUT COMPUTERS.

I replaced both the ERC and touch pad. In 4 months, after the 90 day warranty was obsolete, same problem all over again. Is there another solution? The stove is useless without the touchpad.
