Question about JBL (JBLRADIALWHT) Speaker System, Docking Station Adapter for Apple iPod

Compatability with 4th gen nano

When I docked my 4th gen nano, a message comes up that charging is not supported. I've always used the docking station to charge my 2nd gen nano & looked forward to doing the same with my new player. Have you any idea why this is occuring?

    When ipod plugged in 'charging is not supported by this accessory' appears on screen. How can this be fixed?

    HELP!!!!!!!! the same is happening to me
    it is such a burdon to always have to plug my ipod into my computer to charge it when other people need to use it and get on there itunes
    somebody fix this problem soon!!!!!!

    I also saw it on the Apple's website as an iphone accessory.

Griffin also offers an adapter to remedy this concern. I haven't used it but here's a link.

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.

Ipod 4th gen "charging not supported"
It does that to my iPhone; if I want to charge I have to use a separate cable and run the audio into the aux. Defeats the whole purpose of a dock if you ask me, but I guess they never anticipated what they'd have to do to charge the new iPhone batteries back when they designed the pre-G3-phone docks.

IPod Nano 4thGen won't charge on Emerson iP100
ipod of the 4th gen. only charges in USB mode and not in Fire wire mode(ilink1394).
models of 3th gen don't have this problem.

My Jamo i300 will not charge my new ipod nano (4th Gen).
not likely the new 4 gen Ipod has different pin set within its dock connector system for the video output which has made many 3rd party accessories no longer able to charge the ipod but it will still play music

nano 4th does not support firewire anymore, best option is to bring your AJ300D back to where you bought it. Philips claim that nano 4th is supported is not true.
