If it is not a bad solder connection that comes and goes as you flex the set or tap it with your hand, then it is likely the capacitors on the PSU Board that need replacing.

The cables might be loose or the electrical might be at fault or the power supply is having problems for your TV or the bulbs are starting to no longer work anymore the firmware or the software needs to be updated.
I would start by shining a torch at the screen when the TV is turned on and see if you can see a faint image in the background, if you can then this would more than likely be down to your inverter board/s If not then if you have no picture and no sound at all then i would put this down to your main AV board (the one with the scarts and inputs on ) These guys have all boards for this TV

Apparently they are not Lg screens but a version called AUO optrix . my tv is a non economical repair and i am waiting for Currys to get back to me . let me know if i can be of any help. Apparently they are not Lg screens but a cheaper version called AUO optrix .
my tv is a non economical repair and i am waiting for Currys to get back to me .
