The one with the two right angle connectors is the inlet line. The other is the return line

SOURCE: need to know the oil to gas ratio for a 056 stihl

Stihl chainsaws are 1:50 oil to gas ratio. Make sure you use good high-quality 2-stroke oil, preferably that which is made by Stihl.

SOURCE: Stihl MS250C Chainsaw works great won't turn off!

That wire should go to the kill switch. IT just grounds out the magento. See the on off switch, and put it back on there.

SOURCE: keep burning up piston on

It sounds like you are running lean. Not a lean oil/gas mix but a lean Air/fuel ratio. This engine runs hot as a high performance engine. any air leaks such as crank seals, manifold gaskets or muffler gaskets can give you too much air for the fuel coming in.

Secondly from the fuel side:
Ethanol (curse it) combines with oils that have no nondispersants making a white chalky poweder in the fuel system causing less fuel to mix with air. any blockage or pin hole leak can cause less fuel to be brought into the engine thus less cooling and lubricating.

Your carburetor and fuel filter need to be serviced and adjusted correctly or they will affect the mix.

When done the engine should run no faster than 13,000 rpm top no load speed.
This engine should idle smoothly at 2,500 with no more than 150 rpm change

if the speed is not as listed above when the rebuild is done you need to go back into the machine.

Call up a shop like www.arcolawn.comto get a EDT8 tach. it is well worth the money.

good luck

Will a 56mm cylinder kit fit a 064

http://sawparts.ca/products/stihl-064-066-ms650-ms660-big-bore-cylinder-kit-nikasil-56mm

It seems that YES a 56mm aftermarket cylinder is available for the Stihl 064. Looking at the kit you need to just replace Cylinder, Piston and rings, bearing bush and clips. Worth also replacing the base gasket too.

Are stihl 066 parts compatible with stihl 064 chainsaw parts

NO because of marketing-technical little differences in it beware of the ordernumbers they are different, it is looking the same indeed but there are differences , also beware of to use (some) second hand parts or (some) equivalent parts it benefits the quality of the Stihl machines in a short time . even a gasket is not the same its look like but in the corners you see the nasty little differences order by your dealer in your Country. regard from the Netherlands

I need to rebuild the carburetor on a Stihl Model 025 chainsaw. An exploded view diagram would help.

I don't have a diagram or the part numbers to the minor and major repair kits, but a Stihl dealer should be able to help. Tell him you need a kit for a ZAMA C1Q type carb. The exploded view should be with the kit.
