We have recently bought a jvc lcd television 3 weeks ago..and whilst watching it the other night these thin lines appeared all over it..so it was sent back to where we purchased it from and was told it was caused by impact damage and was irrepairable..but there was no impact with the tele we where sitting watching it at the time.. would there be any other possible cause? and can it be repaired? thanks
Without seeing the lines in question, it is difficult to say 100%. But, if the panel was cracked, the only remedy is to replace the panel. Given its age (3 months), unless there is specific evidence of impact, I would suggest that the crack may have come from the frame moving with time. Don't waste your time with the local shop. Call JVC directly and indicate that you had no impact on the TV and that the "shop" is trying to not repair it. Verify that the TV has the same problem as when you brought it to the shop.
