SOURCE: Replacing a fuel line for a Poulan 2175 type 2 chainsaw

the fuel line from the tank filter goes to the carby and the other tank one goes to the "out" on the primer bulb. the other one on the bulb goes to the carby.

Now If the primer isnt marked there is a long and short nipple, and I cant rememer which is which...If you press the the prime rwith the hoses off you can find which one is sucking(in) and the one that blows (out).
The "in" on the caby (tank filter hose) is usualy the pipe that is in the aprox middle position, out (return, primer) is usualy ont outer position.....

the primer basicaly pulls air and fuel out of the carby and back in to the tank, not pushing it into the carby like most ppl think.
if it wont prime swap the hoses around on the carby and try....if that still dont work the caby diaphram might be US.

SOURCE: Diagram of fuel line for Craftsman 16" chainsaw

Your saw is a Poulan. Try converting the cc to a model number. A 2.2cc Craftsman is often a Poulan model 2200. go to this link and find something that appears the same under (POULAN-WEED-EATER).
http://www.ordertree.com/cms/illustrated-parts-list/9788.html
The IPL will help. Pay attention to the year there is a different area for older saws.
For a current saw Craftsman should have something available.

SOURCE: have craftsman 36cc 16inch bar chainsaw will not

If you did nothing to the carburetor adjustments, are using a fresh (1.5 months or less) fuel mix with the same oil/fuel ratio, are operating at the same elevation, and the air filter is clean, there is a reason your saw is acting up.

The idle sdrew is usually separated fron the other 2 and probaly not fitted with an EPA limiter. HTH

SOURCE: Replacing 16

The second carburetor port feeds the primer (bleeder), returns excess fuel to tank.
Filtered line to carb, carb to bleeder, bleeder to tank (probably not visible and no hose in tank).

You can find an exploded parts list wit a little detail here:

The print is deceptive, it appears the filtered line feed the bleeder it does not!

My craftsman chain saw 18 will not start

The 3 things needed for an engine to run:
1. Compression (Cylinder, Piston, rings, gaskets)
2. Ignition (Spark plug, ignition module/coil)
3. Fuel (Fuel lines, Carburetor, gaskets, bad fuel)

More than Likely I would start by checking fuel related since that is usually the biggest offender (fuel lines broken/dry rotted, bad carb.)

HOW DO YOU REPLACE FUEL LINES ON A CRAFTMAN CHAINSAW MODEL 358355160

The lines are usually a tight fit in the fuel tank. This prevents leaks. They must be pulled out of the tank (one at a time) then cut the new lines end in a "v" pattern, this will allow you to push the new line through the tank. Long needle nose pliers are needed too.

How to change fuel lines on craftmans 36cc chainsaw

The best way is to change only one at a time. There are many folks on here that removed everything, then couldn't remember where the lines went. Use original lines, not plastic. Check your work by trying to pump fuel into the primer bulb. Good luck!

Replacing 16" craftsman chainsaw fuel line. Problem is one line from tank with two ports on carb and two ports on bulb. There is no diagram to show sequence of connections.

16" craftsman chainsaw primer pfoblem

Check the condition of the fuel line and filter in the tank and to the carb and primer.Today gas and time will soften them allowing them to become blocked or leak.Replace if needed.

Need diagram for fuel lines on craftsman chainsaw

There is two sizes of line. I see the large one goes to the large port on the primer button and then to the fuel tank. The small one goes from the primer button to the carb. The problem is there are two hose connections on the carb. I believe one is a vent, but I am not sure what one it is. I have a 36cc 2-cycle model 358.352161
