My Philips GoGear MP3 won't turn on. Is there any way it can get fixed? I've tried resetting it but nothing happens.

(I "ASSUME" you charged it, or tried to). HOW OLD is your MP3 player??
If it's pushing 2yrs old, or played/used on a fairly regular/daily basis,
.....YOU MAY JUST NEED A NEW BATTERY.

Carefully peel up the UPC code strip on back of player. (There is a tiny screw underneath it)
Carefully remove screw. (The snap notches are 'L' shaped inside the edges of the case).
Gently slide/pry open the backside of the case, taking care NOT to break the snap notches.
Open case, REMOVE BATTERY. FIND/MATCH BATTERY TYPE. (look in WATCH batteries).
Place the new battery in player. Close case, restart/turn on player.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatiblevideo file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format thatyour MP3 player uses. I've been adding music to my mp3 and one day I used a different site to add music, so ever since that day I couldn't turn on my mp3 player. It turns on to the "go gear vibe" screen then...

Hi theondraw,
I see that you mp3 will not work now after adding Audio from a different site.
It is possible that the format of your mp3 was compromised or shall I say corrupted, that only way is to format the mp3 again and start a fresh audio list all file on your mp3 could be corrupt now.
Reformat your mp3 and try adding audio using only application or program, mp3 players have specific formatting when adding audio and form other site it may be different and could damage the file system.
Waiting for 4 day will really not work that will just let the unit stay rested and not do any fix, Reformat the Unit add Add Audio an try it again, just an advise use only one program/application when adding audio on your mp3 to prevent file corruption.
Have a nice day.

My philips gogear ariaz 8gb wont turn on.....yesterday it froze then i think it ran out battery.over night..now nothing is happening i tried to charge it and but it wont turn on....

I have had this happen a few times. Try putting a pin in the reset hole. This worked every time for me, plus I didn't lose any data from it, which I thought I would.

New GoGear Vibe will not turn on after first charge!

This is not a solution to fixing the mp3 player, but I no longer need assistance, I returned the product for a refund.

Need help on repairing my Phillips gogear mp3

As far as opening the Philips Device Manager - if it won't pop up automatically, then on a computer running Windows XP, you can go to Start (on your desktop) --> All Programs --> Philips --> Philips Device Manager to open the program.

My philips gogear wont turn on

Disconnect the GoGear from the computer
Reset it first (pinhole in back - safety pins work best), even if nothing happens - just to be on the safe side
Nothing will happen still, but we are OK
Make sure the power is off, and hold in the volume + button, reconnect the GoGear to the computer while holding in the volume + button, and continue holding volume + until a window pops us saying Found New Hardware Wizard
Go through the Found New Hardware Wizard, and the GoGear should be working again - the player will be revived

Write me back if this fails to resolve the problem.

Make sure you are using the original USB cable that came supplied with the GoGear, and then try the volume + method again. If the volume + method doesn't work, then there is a problem with the USB port recognziing the device being plugged in - or, the player was physically damaged.
