We have an NEC Electra Elite system. Most of the phone are set so that when an internal phone dials a different extension, it beeps once and then you can talk directly to the person on the other end. (Voice over) It does not ring and you don't have to pick up (assuming your MIC is on). We have two phones in the office that ring when you dial their extension though. I know that you can dial "1" after their extension so it's just voice over, but how can we program it to be voice over immediately, instead of having to dial a "1"?

Jennifer209, if you press FEATURE + the button VM is pre-programmed on what does it display? It should show the extension number pilot to VM. If you call it directly, what happens? If you get no answer calling it directly, your VM may be down.

Kaait, is it getting into the VM that's the problem, or doing things inside the mailbox that is the problem?

SOURCE: Internal Call "Voice Call" and does not ring

You can toggle each individual phone extension as to whether or not it recieves a "voice" call or a "ring-first" call.

At the extension, press "SPEAKER - 60" it will display the mode. Press the * (asterick) key to toggle between the modes. Then press SPEAKER again to set.

The call forwarding was turned off. To turn on, press speaker, enter 793, press 1(for set), press extention number, and enter 300. If you have call forwarding on and are looking for more rings, do the above steps except press 2 (for clear).

You have to be on the root phone or "first phone".
To check various phones -Hit {feature} 4.
Should display 100= TEL 01. Once on the first phone then use {feature} 9 #.
Time will flash at top of display and can be adjusted.

If you are not on the first phone you will get error at the top of the display. Leave the hand set on the hook.

When your're on a call, you press Conference, get internal dial tone, dial the extension you want or 9 plus the whole outside number you want, then press Conference again to tie the calls together. Some exts only have access to one call at a time, so if you can't make 2 calls at a time, this feature won't work.

It is usually extension # 100. 1.- Press "FEATURE" 2.- Dial "9#" 3.- Enter hour and minute 4.- Press "RECALL" to change AM/PM setting 5.- Press "HOLD" to change the calendar setting 6.- Press "RECALL" to change the day of week 7.- Dial "#" to move the cursor to day of month field 8.- Enter day of month 9.- Press "RECALL" to select month 10.- Dial "#"to move the cursor to year field 11.- Enter last 2 digits of year 12.- Press "FEATURE"

I have an electra elite phone system how can i change my recorded message from a different location?

Dial a number (outside phone line or extension number) that rings direct to voicemail. Once you hear a greeting, the typical access is "9" + your extension, after which you will likely be prompted for your password. If you are within your phone system, the softkeys will now work just like you were at your own phone, otherwise you will be prompted with a menu.

From that phone, try Feature - 69 - Feature.

I need to program a HeadSet Button

For the DTU phone on an NEC Elite system:
Memory Block 4-12
put in the port number and the Lkey of the extension you want to make a headset key.
Programmin on a 16button phone, Lkey 11 needs to be lit and will display H SET to verify.

For the DTP phone, it is generally on an NEC 2000, which is entirely different.
