My 2007 Philips/Magnavox, model # 32MF337B/27, needs 2 of 3 capacitors on the power board. What should they be replaced with, (what uf #)? I was told what I needed to do to fix it over a year ago and I remember to keep the volts the same but get bigger uf`s. Please someone know what I am talking about.

SOURCE: need instruction book

I was unable to locate your specific model using the information you provided however here is a link to the Philips website.
http://www.support.philips.com/support/html/index_us_en.html
They have a diagram to identify exactly which numbers they need to identify the appropriate manual. From there it should be a simple download to get the information you need.

I hope this helps, good luck!

The capacitors for 2533,2540,2541,and 2508 should be replaced. They are all 100uf 16v surface capacitors. Those capacitors are sold on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Rubycon-Electrolytic-Capacitor-IMPEDANCE-Continuous/dp/B0015A8U9M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&m=A6Q8GCHJGURD6&s=industrial&qid=1225140147&sr=1-2

SOURCE: Philips 27 inch TV - Model # 27PT543S37A - Keeps going off!

SYMPTOM:
Clicks and turns off after turning on set when cold. Have to turn on and off several times to work, or keep changing channels, right side of screen is black for a while.
PROBLEM: It is almost always a bad transistor and a bad capacitor. (about $0.70 in parts)
SOLUTION:
This repair is fairly straightforward. You will need a soldering iron, a solder ******, and a small torx bit. Unplug the set. Lay the TV on the floor, screen down. Remove the torx screws holding the rear cover on. There should be 10, (don’t forget the 2 by the input panel). You will see 2 circuit boards, the one of interest is the large one near the bottom of the set. This board has a retainer clip on each side that needs to be pulled out to allow the circuit board to slide out. Slide the board out about 5-6 inches. You might need to support the board so it doesn’t slide back down into the TV set. This circuit board should have numbers by each of the components. You want to look for 7461 (transistor) and 2455 (capacitor). They are located right next to each other near the center of the board. The transistor will usually overheat and discolor the circuit board immediately around it. Warm up the soldering iron and get the solder ****** ready. Heat up the solder joint while removing excess solder with the ******. Once the transistor and capacitor are free, check the numbers on each. The capacitor (round cylinder) should have “47uf” on it. The transistor should have “C33725” on it. You can order these parts from Digi-Key (google it) for about $2.50 including shipping if you use USPS option. The part numbers are: 493-1060-ND for the capacitor and BC33725-ND for the transistor. Once you get your parts, solder them in and check TV operation. It should work as it did before. This repair can be done by anyone familiar with a soldering iron in about 30-45 minutes their first time. Good Luck!!

Am I diagnosing the problem correctly?

Sounds like a bad component in the power supply. Most likely a bad capacitor.

Need to find out a part # for my philips 52PFL7403/f7 for the ir sensor

Join Date: Nov 2011 I have a Philips 47PFL3603D/F7 with the same problem. It was the IR sensor board causing the problem. You can search online to find the board, which almost everyone will most likely not have in stock, and cant be ordered. The part you need is this: 313926859181 IR Remote Sensor.

Models it will fit are as follows: Substitute Parts 313926859182

If you can find the board, great! A replacement board costs about $12.00. If you can't... we'll there is something you can try ; )

Either way, if you know it's the board, what's the harm in trying?

Remove the back from the TV. You can actually leave it on your stand to do this if you can spin it around to gain access to the back of it. Be sure to unplug everything first!!!

Looking at the back of the tv, the board will be located in the lower left side by the speaker. It will have 2 cables attached to it. Remove them, and take out the screw or two that holds it in place. There will be a plastic tab that keeps it in place also.

Take your fingernail and bend the tab back, and the board should come free. After that you should be holding the board in your hands. The side of the board with the connectors on it is the side you want to manipulate. There will be a tiny surface mounted capacitor beside one of the wire connection sockets. Take a utility knife and scrape it off/ you could use a soldering iron but it should come off very easy with a knife.

Plug it back in, and give it a try! If it works... great! If not, find a replacement board, and try that.

Hope it helps someone!!!! quote.gif

Power will not stay on , on my magnavox tv model 32mf337b/27 unplugged like user manual suggested but didnt work even after 30 hrs saw on magnavox.com a few people have had same proble with this model mine...

Magnavox has issues with puffed caps on the power supply. This sounds like its a 32 inch lcd tv. I tried searching for a service manual for this and can't find one. If it is an lcd you need to look at the capacitors on the power supply. If they are puffed up, you will need to replace them with equal or slightly larger valued capacitors. The capacitor values are mfd and voltage printed on the capacitors themselves. You will need a soldering iron to replace them. Lay the tv, if it is an lcd, on a flat surface cushioned by a blanket. Make sure the surface is large enough to support the tv frame, as you don't want to cause damage to the panel. remove the back of the tv. There are numerous screws, and once the back is off, check the power supply pcb for puffed caps. This is the board with the power cord attached. I know in magnavox tv there is a cage covering the power supply, so remove any connectors because you will have to flip the cage housing the power supply to get to the caps. If you feel confident, give it a try. Let me know how it goes

Magnavox 26MF231D/27 Unit will not power up. cord is secured and outlet is ok. Any suggestions?

you need to change capacitors 2079 and 2080 with 1000 uf, 50 volt caps. The caps are on the power board at the top as you view the unit from the rear. Also...as the other fella said....if you see any capacitors that are bulged out on top replace them with the same value micro-farads ( uf ) but a higher voltage rating. barneyluc

Ssb board

What model is this? Because it says Magnavox 27ms343s which is a 27' tv. The 55' has a different board. Small Signal Board is SSB, you also have a LSB. Your best bet is to call 1-800-844-7871 which is PTS and give them the model # and order the board. It will be the cheapest you can find. If that person is right then you can get the board here. And even if you have question you can ask to speak to a tech and give them the problem. Hope this helps
