Did you try charging it with the USB cord or do you have an adapter that plugs into the wall? If you tried with the USB cord, how long did you let it charge?Did you plug cord directly into computer or do you have external USB hub? Many times the hubs will not have sufficient power to charge. Was your computer"go to sleep"after a while. The MP3 will only charge while the computer is awake.
There are a variety of things that could be wrong. If the MP3 sat for a long time the battery could be completely discharged. I've not had this problem on the MP3, but on an old MP3 my sister has. I've noticed that sometimes I need to plug it in with a wall adapter to get the battery charged enough to start up quickly. If the battery is completely discharged,it can take 30 minutes or longer to see any life from the MP3. I would let it charge for few hours if you can then try the reset.

To reset the MP3 press and hold both Menu and Select (center button) for about 5 or 10 seconds. If the MP3 is alive this will reset it.

From your post, I'm not sure if you mean the MP3 was sitting for a long time without being used. If that's the case and it used to work, and it has not gotten wet or anything, then the most likely problem is a bad battery. There are services on the web you can find who will replace the battery for a fee. If, on the other hand, it just suddenly stopped working and the reset does not help you may have a more serious problem. Unfortunately there's no way to tell.

Hope it may help you; Regards, VOTIT

I have an iq sound 4700 that i bought two days ago but it seems that its taking longer to charge.whenever i take the plug out, i cant switch it on. need help ASAP?

dear, you do not mentioned that how long stand by your battery gives you after charging.
and if your mp3 every showed battery full after charging.
well since your mp3 player is new, it must not have any problem in battery, i think your charges has some fault. Go to the shop where you purchased your mobile.
they may make it for free.
well,
if your battery shows charged full, and gives a long stand by, then your battery is 100%good.
you need to change your charges, or an integrated circuit which help to keep charging you mp3 player., this circuit defines how long it have to take to charge you mp3 player.

best of luck!

regards!

I charge the MP3 player and it still shows "low battery" message.

There is a trick to charging the battery in these small mp3 players. It won't charge if it is turned on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here's what to do...
1. plug the player into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch the player on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting "System" from the menu
4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.
That is if the battery is still chargeable after all this time. The battery may well require replacing.

The battery has come loose from the contacts on the inside.

Remove the back (4 screws), remove the battery and put it back in securely.

Then charge it for a couple hours.
