Good Day;
Turn your color down all the way, do you get a good Black and White picture with good black, white and grays? If not your picture tube may be going bad. It can be adjusted sometimes to get a 'better' picture.
If picture is a good B&W; adjust britness level: 50% > contast: > 90/95 % >color: 50%.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

I can't get the colour write and on the settings I don't understand what the contrast is or the tint if you can help would be great thank you

Tell me exactly which knobs you’re having problems with. You mentioned contrast and tint. Is that right? Contrast pertains to the background of light and dark.
Tint means the changing of colors. Both of these settings should be placed in the center position if your tv is working properly. I hope this helps.

How can i turn down contrast on my laptop

Acer Aspire one

Brightness is controlled by the Fn and arrow keys.

Contrast can be controlled from the software.

FN key, + left/right arrow key's

other Acers

Log on to your Acer laptop and click on the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the menu.

Double-click on the "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and select the "Settings" tab.

Check the "Color Quality" settings and make sure they are set to either medium or high.

The high setting will give you better color quality and contrast, but it will also use more system resources and shorten battery life.

If you are operating on battery power you may want to move the setting to medium.

Hold down the "Fn" key and press the right arrow at the same time.

This key combination will increase the brightness of your screen.

To decrease the brightness and contrast, hold the "Fn" key down and press the left arrow. Continue using these key combinations until you have found the optimal setting for your laptop display.

hope this helps

Contrast is way too bright, not screen brightness, contrast. is there a contrast adjust button?

Right click on your main screen. Go to properties, or graphic properties, then you will find there is a contrast adjustment within. Usually under color correction.

Colors are off on the TV. When I try to adjust the contrast and brightness, etc from the menu, either everything is orange or green or yellow.

Contrast and brightness won't fix it.You are on the right path though. You need to search around for a color adjustment. You should have numbered scales for all 3 primary colors to adjust. It should also be somewhere under the picture option.Let me know if you need better instructions.Good luck!

I cant get the color right. its to red??? any help? i did notice with the back cover off, there are 6 adjustment screws

yes! those are the screen and focus adjustments. 3 for screen, 3 for focus. try this. go in menu....turn down color, brightness, contrast all they way down. you should then have no picture, but in your case a little red. then go to back of tv and turn those 3 screen adjustments all the way down. slowly turn the screens back up until you get barely a picture. because remember, your brightness and contrast is all the way down. the picture should be dim but seeable and with red, green, blue adjustments, make it a black and white picture. when balanced..... turn up color , brightness, contrast in menu. enjoy!

I can not find any contrast controls on my Toshiba Satellite A305. On the whole, the colors are dull and wash out. The brightness controls must be set at 100% for any moderately accepable image. But there...

There isn't any contrast controls on TFT screens, it's color response depends on the maker of the panel.
If your PC has a Intel or NVidia graphic card, you can modify some color settings from the video driver like gamma or contrast. For NVidia cards, there is a setting called "Color Vibrance" or "Digital Vibrance", increase that.
On Intel cards, right click on the desktop, go to graphic properties, color correction.

I want to change the led color on my blackberry

You cannot make any changes in LED colour settings. However, you can set the color contrast of application interfaces, menus, and pop-up screens to Normal, Grayscale, or Reverse Contrast. To change the color contrast, complete the following steps:
  1. In the Options application, click Screen/Keyboard.
  2. Set the Color Contrast field to Normal, Reverse Contrast, or Grayscale.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Click Save.

Hi, I have just purchased the Samsung LE37A559 tv. I have been trying to get the best colour settings brightness colour contrast tint backlight etc. Is there a optimum setting for all of these ? I am...

The problem is that everyone has a different "taste" when it comes to these settings. I like to turn the color all the way down to start with. You should (if the set is factory adjusted correctly) have a black and white picture. If it's not B&W, then there's something inside the set that needs adjusted and you should get a service call. Then I adjust brightness and contrast to get the best B&W picture. Then I turn the color up until I'm happy with the color level, then I adust tint.

Hope that helps
