Download the drivers of the mic in respect of the mic's model and the operating windows i.e vista 200.then configure the operating window by installing the drivers.

The Galaxy desk mic (power mic) is already wired four pin and the Cobra 200 is a 4 pin already as well. So unless someone has messed with them the mic will plug right up to the radio as is.
But if someone has repined the mic then follow the pinout I listed below to get it rewired for the Cobra 200
Pin #1 on mic connector - Black wire.
Pin #2 on mic connector - White wire.
Pin #3 on the mic connector - Blue wire.
Pin #4 on the mic connector - Red wire.
If you look on the end of the mic connector it will have the imprint of the number for each pin on the mic.

Have you tried using a another XLR cable..,or are the other mics phantom powered condensers..ie try to locate if its a mic problem or the cable..2 other points are 1 - XLR leads for phantom mics need to be XLR to XLR male to Female plugs[ends] 2- is that often an XLR to XLR cable will be not soldered or wired right,so that the power [phantom power is not getting to the mic] so ensure you have a proper cable for that job...Sorry i can't be more specific but from reading your problem all these issues come to mind..If you have ruled all these things out, then it could be the capsule or loose joint or component in the mic which means contact AKG,pro audio services or find a DIY mic person to help..G luck!!
Could you swap with a different mic so you could be sure if the line/cable are allright or confirm that the mic is defective... Also when repairing a mic, 90% of problems come from the connector welds. Use a small flat glasses screwdriver and have a look at the weld of the xlr connector from the inside...
The simple thing to check would be to see if your 48V phantom power switch on your mixer is turned on. Sometimes there is an individual button to turn it on and off for each channel strip.
Good Luck
Hello Jim. These radios do not work well with any power mic including the power echo mics because they have good modulation boards in them. But if you still want to try then check http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobra/200gtl_dx/index.htm
Hi,
Do you Have Any settings Via Control Panel Or Similar, to check to see if the mic isn,t Muted ?
I,m not too up on Vista but have experience With 95/98/2000 And XP.
I,d also assume that there is Troubleshooting facility with Vista.
Also Is the microphone plugged into the correct Jack/Socket ?

open up your volume toolbar, advanced and make sure that your mic is not muted, turned down or that your mic +20 boost is turned off. You can always uninstall sound drivers and have vista find them again on boot up, but Vista is such a new platform that your mic hardware may not be compatible. Good luck, I have never had good results with the windows mic.
