try changing the needle try rethreading the machine top -make sure to use every thread guide & bobbin--make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint also try turning the machine off & then back on & see if that will help
try changing the needle--make sure the needle is correct for the fabric clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose threads if it keeps jamming up & making noises I suggest to have the machine serviced
Machine is slowing down if it has to change the speed. So if design contains a lot of long stitches or not optimized it will be sewn slow. If your software is surely updated to the latest version and still machine is sewing slow then probably you need to optimize your design.
P.S. Software Live Update you can find under "Help" submenu.
stop, remove all threading, clean machine,be sure to clean the top tenion disks with a thicker thread, change needle, rethread carefully and try a test swatch. If not working still, your tension could be out of adjustment. Adjust top tension until the top thread of your swatch balances with the bottom. Use two contrasting colors of thread so you can know which tension is wrong,
Remove bobbin and dangle by the thread, it should not move untill you jerk it and should drop about 3-4 inches. Adjust small screw until this works. Try another swatch.
