If the set works fine except the fact that the customer panel controls are not working but the remote works with all functions, then the fault can be limited to the front panel assembly. This can be due to moisture build up within the panel, can be a fault in the tracks, the linking connection in the processor interface.

Hi Jimmy,

Have you try using remote commander? It seems the power button on your tv is broken. It could be on button pad, or cables connected to it. Can you try check it?

Removing green crt

More than likely you don't have to replace the CRT. Go to this blog for instructions for how to fix the most common problems.
http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html

At the bottom of the page there are comments from users. There are several users that explain how to take off the front panel and where things are located. The model KP57WV600 is different than the pictures in the blog, including the fact that the order of the red, green, and blue adjusters are different.

If you try it and it's not successful and you still want to try to replace the CRT yourself, google KP57WV600 service manual and you can buy it for $9.99 and download it right away.

I wish you well.

Sony 27" wont turn off!!!!

It looks like one of the buttons on the front panel is stuck, base on the info you have provided; the volumen down button is stuck. The remote or any other buttons will not be operative until the fault has been remove.
I would suggest to try to press the Vol. down a few times just to see of it unlocks, if that does not work, the front panel assembly will have to be remove and try again if it works with the remote or manually.
The last thing to do if none of the above works, it will be to put a new switch.
Good Luck.

Screen Turns Blue and shuts off

Go to this site, follow the instructions, and it may fix your problems. I did, and my tv is better than ever!

http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html
I was having this problem with blue. I was able to fix it, and now my tv works again. For those having trouble removing a different front panel, here is what I found on mine -

I own a KP57WV600. Removing the front panel is a little trickier on this model. You remove the 6-8 screws on each side behind the two speakers. You will access these from the lower rear/sides of the TV. Remove the small 2ft plastic pieces. Now from the front of the machine grab the entire lower piece (speaker covers & power/volume/chanel buttons) from the bottom and pull down and towards yourself. There are 4 slots that this piece fits into. I had to take off the lower back panel to see why it wouldn't come out. Don't pull to far because this lower front piece is connected to wires. I'd say you have about a foot of play. Now you can remove the fiber board panel and access the blue/green/red lower screws. When you adjust these, go a fraction of a milimeter at a time.
