Anonymous Posted on Oct 28, 2011

Was playing rugby world cup 2011 today when some random fuzzy lines appeared on my tv screen, i switched my ps3 off straight away as i though it needed a rest and, ever since, am unable to use my ps3, im using a standard 30" sony tv with standard yellow, white and red cables. I've tried the beeping process on the ps3 and also the powering down process, nothings happened as it's still showing no display or sound even on HD. Please help :P

Please confirm which of two is at fault. you can connect a DVD using the same RCA jacks, the red and whilte for audio and the yellow for the video. If the TV works then we are clear on the TV or we need to check other inputs on the TV.
If so the PSP has encountered and error and it can be due to a memory crash after it was shut down.see if there is an error code or if this PS3 does not boot at all there is an hardware issue.

I posted to your problem with a similar one. I was able to get my PS3 to work by:

1.) Powering down both the PS3 and ViewSonic LCD
2.) Unplugging the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
3.) Waiting at least 10 or more seconds
4.) Plugging in the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
5.) Turning on the ViewSonic LCD
6.) Turning on the PS3 and holding down the power button until the beep

After this sequence I heard the bootup audio and the menu appeared on the screen- which detected the HDMI connection to my LCD.

Very odd.. I've had my PS3 in the same place for months and just today this happened.

I wanted to post my success. Best of luck!

Seth
