Need to find and print an owners manual for my akai tv model pth5498

Short on the power and deflection boards---with set unplugged take a careful look inside for burnt or blackened parts etc.

If ur tv is a HDTV.HD tv signal u don't turn it on u have it or not.Check ur tv imcomming broadcasting signal like 1080i or 1080p.u can get that signal,if ur tv in HD broadcasting.

maybe one of the wires came out inside

If your model number is the PTH5498 you will need to replace both convergence ICs they are stk 392-040 you can get replacements at the followig link and they will provide fre instalation instructions with pictures. Here is the link.

On any High Def TV, the reciever you need for this set, which does not have a HD receiver in it, is half the equation. Most HD channels have some HD content mixed with SD content on the same channel.
