I could not make that model number ya posted work but your question sounds to me like that dude is a direct spark stove. If your top burners are lighting then you have a good spark module. That means the oven control is not getting confirmation of ignition and has tried several times and finally locked out. If it do lock out it stays locked out for a while. Also ignition is not instantaneous and you will have to allow for the process to do it's thang.
I wrote a tip for these stoves and included a service manual HERE.

My Maytag stove. I know it's normal to feel heat from the vent on the stove top when the oven is on. But the temp of the heat escaping is sooo much hotter than it used to be. Do I need a fix ? Model...

The heat from your vent should be a little lower than what the oven is set at. So I doubt if you have a problem but you might want to take some temperature measurements to see.

The oven pilot is set too high on a Maytag CPR1100ADW. How can it be adjusted? We just replaced the oven thermostat and the oven pilot thermocouple. It works great now and holds the oven temperature...

The original poster is asking if the size of the pilot flame can be adjusted because it is so big it can audibly be heard. His oven is working perfectly as he stated having replaced both the pilot assembly and the oven thermostat. So the question remains can the size of the pilot flame be adjusted? I am having the opposite problem with the pilot flame being too small so the gas valve opens but the gas will not ignite untill the volume of natural gas fills the chamber enough to be ignited by the pilot at which point flames can be seen shooting out from under the stove. I know the pilot flame can be adjusted for the stove burners it's reasonable to believe there is an adjustment for the oven pilot as well.

WHen turning on the oven to bake it will not ignite a flame. I can broil and cook on top however the gas will not lite when baking. The pilot is on however the gas will not burn unless banging on the part...

Hello,
This is usually a symptom of a faulty oven safety valve. Over time, it tends to stick internally and banging on it helps unstick it. You can either continue banging on it for faster burner ignition or have it replaced. You'll need the make, model # and sometimes serial # if it's an older model, to replace the part. If you do it yourself, be sure to close the shut off valve behind the stove before you remove it. Douglas

Stove works just fine/oven does not warm up - pilot light is on, but turning on oven does nothing but make the pilot light glow a little bigger. Oven will not ignite.

Hi, The ignitor is getting weak and will not open the gas valve. Replace the ignitor and you will be back in business. This is a very common problem with the gas ovens.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

GE Spectra TrueTemp Oven Pilot is Out

REmove bottom panel from stove. shut gas off for at LEAST 5 min. Longer is better. Then placel open flame above gas nozzle, slowly turn to ignite posiiton. After it is lit, wait 30 seconds and turn to on positon.
If by chance this model doens't have a knob for this, then turn gas valve off for 5 min, let fumes evaporate, light flame, place over nozzle, turn gas on.replace bottom oven panel slowly.

The oven pilot to our gas stove was out, while the stove top pilots were still burning. When trying to light the oven pilot, it would light but not stay lit. Model #CG31200BDW

have you done testing and checking the unit, it seems that your problem was on the thermal fuse, and this part need to be replaced if you find it burned or busted

GE STOVE MODEL JGBS15GE

Often times you will have problems with the gas thermostat and not necessarily with the safety valve. Once you have lit the pilot light, turn the oven knob to any temperature. The pilot light should get bigger in size of flame. If not, the thermostat that controls the oven must be replaced. If the pilot light does get bigger, but the stove does not ignite, it is the safety valve.
