Connecting DIshNetwork TV2 to a Panasonic Viera TV (Mdl#TH-42PD50U)

Hi and Thanks in advance for any and all help

I am trying to help a friend of mine connect her Viera TV as the TV2 to their exitsting set-up. The previous set-up was on an older TV through a DVD-VCR combo. When I have hooked-up the cable to the TV directly we either get sound and no picture or a fuzzy picture and no sound, this is frustrating as all get out. For the life of me I cannot figure out why, since it is a newer TV and works with no problem with the DVD player that is connected to it, and worked very well on just rabbit ears.

Any suggestions?

I have also tried to locate a DVD/VCR combo with and actual coxail connection that has threads but cannot find one of those either to try connecting it the way it was.

Again Thanks in advanced for any and all help

Suicidal1 thanks for the info, if the VCR that I picked up at the thrift store dies I will try this, but for a whopping $3.78 it works now. The only other problem there is now half of the channels do not come in. Since the switched out the main Dish box some channels show up on TV1 and now with TV2 working through the VCR some channels are not coming through there either. It shows an Attention screen saying aquiring signal and isn't going away, any suggestions?

I am assuming you eliminated the vcr so if the cable is directly to the tv try changing the channel to a number beyond 69. If you are able to do this you will need to go to the tv with the receiver and turn them both on and press the menu button on remote 1 then press 6-1-5. This will be the modulator setup screen. Move the highliter to the left and select 73 cable. Move highlight back to right to done and exit ti live tv. Check tv2 now and see what you have ON CHANNEL 73. If you do not find picture and sound there try scrolling up to 116. Let me know the results.

Hi, I am planning to buy Panasonic 42" LED TV

Cnet has the best reviews, in my opinion, and here's their review:
http://www.cnet.com.au/panasonic-viera-th-l42d25a-led-lcd_comments-339302598.htm
Unfortunately, there aren't many reviews out on this model, but maybe no news is good news.
Sorry I didn't have more info, but perhaps this will help.
Also, you might talk to salespeople at Best Buy, etc.- they tend to know more about them than anyone, and might be able to help you access it.

Panasonic Viera 46" plasma~no sound, no picture

I would use the warranty at Bestbuy at that point. Opening up the TV would most likely void the warranty.

Panasonic Viera link and Foxtel IQ

It is very likely that cross talk does corrupt the link but for Panasonic to "blame" anyone else is not very professional. Anyway, if it worked for 6 months perhaps disconnecting the Foxtel IQ and reestablishing the Viera link with the Panasonic devices then reconnecting the Foxtel IQ for another 6 months of happy viewing. This is not a permanent solution but the alternative doesn't seem to be an option.
