My delonghi dem 10 dehumidifier is working and collecting water but but the pause is continuously flashing why is this

The flashing pause light on your DeLonghi dehumidifier indicates that the unit is in a defrost cycle. During this time, the compressor shuts off and the fan continues to run in order to thaw any ice that may have formed on the coils. This process typically lasts for 10-15 minutes before the unit resumes normal operation.
If the pause light continues to flash even after the defrost cycle is complete, it may indicate a problem with the unit's sensor or control board. In this case, it is recommended to consult the user manual or contact a professional for assistance with troubleshooting and repairs.

Pause light is constantly flashing

Pause is not a term ive seen on a dehumidifier , but one would assume that its waiting for something to occur in that mode , and with these the only logicial reason to wait is to "wait" for Moisture to return to room , maybe your room has been voided of %rh to the setting on unit and its waiting for more water to return ??

Why compressor comes on for a second then shuts off

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that the compressor on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504TDD, comes on for a second and then shuts off. First, make sure that when you are first turning your dehumidifier on that you put it in continuous mode. After about 3 days of continuous mode, set your appliance to the humidity level you would like. Secondly, the "Compressor" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. Thirdly, make sure the tank is fitted correctly otherwise your dehumidifier will not turn on. Lastly, make sure your dehumidifier has sufficient clearance to operate. There should be a minimum of 12 inches clearance around your dehumidifier. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dehumidifier status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a delonghi des 14 dehumidifier. Usually it goes into pause mode for 3 mins when you first turn it on with the yellow light on and then starts dehumidifieing. It now stays in the pause mode forever...

Just fixed this problem with my DES14. Its a fault with the circuit board inside the machine and is very easy to fix, even for a novice. Here is how to do it:

1) Open up the machine by removing the screws in the case. (Make sure it is unplugged!)

2) Locate the circuit board on the side of the unit.

3) At this point you have two options. If you want a unit with full functionality you need to buy a replacement circuit board. I found one on MasterSpares (http://www.mastersparesonline.com/product/index/10147) It costs about 30 pounds. Simply remove the old board and replace it.

4) If you want a working unit for no extra cost (but without the functionality of the humidistat) then remove the rectangular white connector from the circuit board which has red, blue, white and yellow wires entering it. Add an extra wire between the central white wire and the red wire that is adjacent to the yellow. (see photo).

5) Re-assemble the unit. If you have opted for the free option the unit will work when you plug it in and switch it on but will no longer cut in and out with different humidities (or have the annoying warm up period). Thankfully the water overflow cut-out will still work.

Hope it works for you! Feel free to ask if you are confused!

My dehumidifer collect water but the fan blows hot her so it makes the room hotter

This may be caused by running the unit in continuous mode, rather than timed mode. The heat is generally is generated when the defrost mode cycles on, to defrost the cooling coils. This happens more frequently, if the air space around the unit is obstructed or it's operating in a temperature range of 40 to 60 F. Cleaning the air intake filter at least once a week, can help solve this problem, too.

Maintain a minimum of 12" free air space around all sides of the dehumidifier. Use a timed mode rather than a continuous mode. Make sure the room is within the proper operating temperature range and clean the air intake filter weekly.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

My dehumidfier won't shut off. I check everything out and it's good but it just won't shut off it keep running.

It may be, that you have it running in continuous mode, rather than timed mode. Also, most dehumidifiers fans will run almost continually, to keep the air moving, so the humidity sensor can pickup and increase in humidity, if there is one.

If the above doesn't seem to be the problem with your unit, turn The Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 12-15 minutes. This will give the electronics time to reset themselves, if necessary.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a 50 pint Fridigidaire dehumidifier and can't set on a continuous mode. can you help?

The unit may simply need to be reset. To do this, turn the Master ON/OF Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and wait 12-15 minutes before plugging it back in. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and the set the controls as you would like.

I will remind you, that operating in continuous mode, the dehumidifier will consume a lot of electricity and have little or no chance to cool off. Other than when the tank is full and needs to be emptied.

Hope this helped you to solve the problem.
