I want to print with my Lexmark X2670 printer using my Acer laptop. The only problem is my laptop does not have a disc slot for me to download the software. Any other suggestions? Or does anyone know

Go to lexmark website and download drivers from there.
Or use an external usb disk drive
Or copy the available disk to a usb stick .
If the laptop is running windows 7 or above it will detect the external device and load the software automatically from the net.

Good luck

Reset factory settings for toshiba S241-504

Back up all of you data to an external drive before you begin the process
If you make a mistake during the process, your laptop may not be able to turn on or load the
operating system, so copy valuable information to media where you can retrieve it, even if your laptop malfunctions.

Turn on your system and wait for it to finish loading Windows and start-up programs.
You can tell when the operating system has loaded, and start-up programs have been initiated, by the HDD (hard disk drive) light.
It should have came with discs. Put one in and reboot the laptop
Insert the system disk when the hard disk light stops blinking, signaling that the processor has finished accessing the hard disk, and that the system is idle. Shut down your laptop after you insert the disc.
You do not have to wait for the computer to access data from the disc.

Turn on the laptop again. Keep pressing the "C" key continuously as the system boots. This will enable the laptop to boot from the disk. Once the disk is accessed, the laptop will show

the message "Loading Files;" begin the factory reset process by always selecting the default option that pops up.

You can also use the "F12" key to boot from the disk.
Highlight the CD/DVD option and press "Enter" to begin the restore process.

Follow the on-screen instructions until the process finishes

Restoring a Toshiba laptop back to factory settings may take 30 to 45 minutes.

Unless you terminate a process by pressing "Cancel," your laptop will be rolled back to factory defaults, when the operating system installs completely.

hope this helps

I NEED TO INSTALL THIS PRINTER MFC-7420 on my laptop which do not have cd rom player

You have several options to do this:

- If you have spare PC, you may copy the content of the CD to a USB disk and install from the USB disk on the laptop
- Or you may just insert the CD on another computer on the network and share the CD-ROM drive by going to My Computer-Right Click on the CD Drive and click share. Now on your laptop go to My Network Places (usually on Control Panel) where you can see the shared CD drive from your other machine.
- Or if your laptop has internet access, visit Brother website and type your printer model to download the driver installer on your laptop machine.

Good luck and hope this helps.

I am trying to install a printer onto my acer notebook, but i dont seem to have a cd disk drive to place the printer disk into, can you tell me how to connect it please

Hi

If you go to the website of the printer that you have you should be able to down load the software onto your laptop then it will use it to load it

Or if you have a pendrive with enough space on it you could copy your printer disc information onto that then go and transfer it over to your laptop

hope this help

It wont load windows xp all of a sudden, payed and down loaded windows xp recovery disk when i went through that it was runing a different program which let go into my hard drive but wont run any of the...

It could be possible if the hard drive isnt too far gone, are you able to use it at all? have you tried to hook it up to a different laptop and see if you can access it from that? You'll probably be better off getting a list of anything that you can re-download and storing the irreplaceable stuff such as sensitive documents onto a disk. If you can do this then just reformat the hard disk and get it over with. You stand to be in for quite a headache trying to copy all your files off your hard disk and making sure all the files arent corrupted. This stands especially true if your hard disk has malware or a virus.

The dvd multidrive dos not show up in device manager

Check the bios to make sure the drive is recognized.

As far as printer install goes, you can just download the latest install package from Epson's website direct.

If the drive isn't recognized you either have a bad drive or a problem with the motherboard. Either way you should remove the drive from the laptop and then reseat it back into the laptop. While everything is off and the battery removed of course.

Using multiple HP printer models with same Windows XP laptop

I doubt there is a universal driver , however you could connect directly to your pc or via a router and share it over your home /business network, and access it them that way
