I have a dlink DIR-615 attached remotely to another home router system. It is hardwired via a LAN port and I connect to internet via the remote DLINK router via wire or wireless just fine. Problem is I can't access the DLINK router programing. I have reset it a few times and reprogrammed but once I exit I cannot access the IP address I gave it when programming. Windows shows no website found

After you change the IP address of your Router, you have to reset your Network Card IP address if it is Dynamic. If your IP address is Static you need to manually make these changes from within Windows. Else, reset your computer and try accessing the newly issued IP address for your Router.

Close all Browser Windows and Programs before continuing.
From the Command Prompt, type:

C:\> ipconfig /release

Press Enter, and then type:

C:\> ipconfig /renew

Now try and access the New Router IP.

Reset my dlink dir 615 router and now internet light stays flashing orange

Do you have the Internet connected to the Internet port in the back of the DLINK? You will have to configure the DLINK for internet access. Open a web browser to your DLINK and check on the configuration under internet-setup. Select the type of internet connection you have i.e. DHCP, PPPoE, Static, etc. Once that is set up, you should have access to the internet like before.

I have followed instructions (several times) to connect my dlink router dir-615 and once I unplug the ethernet cable and attach to dlink (blue slot 1) and plug in power to the router....it no longer can...

the blue socket should be connected to your modem, it is this modem that supplies the internet for your router to distribute to your computers so if you disconnect the blue cable from your router you are disconnecting the internet

Dlink DIR 615, network name changed, won't accept password

It appears your brother has changed your wireless router settings.
You can reset the Dlink back to the default settings by -
Power off the Dlink and press and hold the RESET button on the back of the Dlink and the power on the Dlink. Hold the RESET button for 5 secs. until the LEDs flash at the same time.
Connect a LAN cable from the computer to the Dlink. Open a browser and enter the Dlink's configuration URL
http://192.168.0.1
Default login = admin
PW = blank (just press Enter)
You can now change the admin password and set up a new passphrase (ie encryption)
For details on how to secure your wireless from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-
