I have the same problem, anybody has a solution

I have the same problem. If I just leave the printer flashing sometimes after a couple of hours sometimes after a few days it will continue through the power on sequence and work. After that it is fine until we have another power outage and it tries to turn back on. It seems to be something in the power up check, like the head position sensor.

I have optiplex 780, On stsrt up the diagonistic lights 2,3 and 4 keep on blinking and no display comes on the monitor. According to Dell 780 manuals, a possible USB error may have occured and re...

Shut down the computer, disconnect ALL USB connections front and back.
  1. Plug in just the keyboard USB cable and start the computer. If it does not work, try moving the USB plug for the keyboard and trying again. If you can't find ANY USB port that works, then your motherboard is probably fried.
  2. Once the computer comes up with just the keyboard, plug in the mouse and wait for it to work (should be almost immediately). If it does not work in one USB port, try another until it works... wait several seconds after plugging it in before deciding whether it works or not.
  3. Once you have a working keyboard and mouse, begin plugging in any other USB devices, one at a time and verifying that each device works. As with the keyboard and mouse, if it does not work in one port, try another.
    1. Note that some devices may take several seconds or up to a minute to fully be discovered and set up and you may have to respond to something on the screen.

The printer turns on and the lights flash. there is also an error code 5010. I tried to hold the power button to force a color test but nothing happens?

Try these solutions:

  • Reset your printer: turn it off, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on
  • Do service reset: turn off your printer, unplug power cord, press ON/OFF button 5 times, plug power cord back in and turn on printer
If none of this helps, your printer may require repair.

GT4016 hit pwr button comes on flashes three

Check the USB ports for damaged contacts. If the supply powers up and then shuts down immediately, you have a critical error. Damaged USB port contacts can cause this but so can graphics cards etc. Open the machine up and remove all cards and memory sticks and unplug all the drives but LEAVE THE CPU ALONE!! Now, turn it on. If it boots and starts beeping ( which it will with no memory installed) shut it down and reinstall each item you removed one at a time and turn it on after each single thing. When it stops booting and does whats its doing now then the last thing you plugged back in is the issue.
If it still doesn't power up with everything removed then the issue is in the mainboard. If this is th case, my advice is to seek professional advice..
