Look for a blue padlock sign on keyboard and hold the fn key and tap blue padlock.it may be that all you have to do is press and hold the fn button until it unlocks.
Don't you have a key with a padlock icon?
That should be your scroll lock.
If the color is not white, you may have to press first a function key with the same color as the padlock icon.
That is your number lock key is turned on, which means that your 9 key keypad is ready to use. If you press the number lock key on your keyboard the light will go away but your 9 key numeric keyboard won't work until you press the number lock key again.
Try pushing the FN key at the same time as you push on the lock key this may unlock the keyboard I think you are in the locked position there is a FN key this is the blue highlighted key to make all the blue keys work you have to press it simultaneously. I hope that this assisted you. Thanks for using FixYa John
your numlock is turned on. look for a key labeled fn and something like a padlock.. hold the fn key like a shift key, then tap the padlock.. this typically happens when someone plugs in an external full sized keyboard.
The dial is probably locked. Look for a little padlock symbol on the display. Check the user manual for Dial or keyboard lock. Generally on Yaesu radios you use the function key plus a keyboard key. If the keyboard is labeled, you should see something that looks like a padlock next to the correct function key.
Most likely you have your numlock key turned on by mistake. Look on your computer and see if there is a light with a padlock and a number in the padlock. It is probably lit up. Now look for a key on your keyboard called "numlock" and press the key once. See if the light goes off. When you have the numlock key on some of the letter keys will work as numbers like a calculator. When you turn it off the keys are back to letters.

Solution#1: Accidentally pressing Sft+Numlock key combination will activate & inactivates ten key pad. (You'll see light enabled in padlock symbol with a number in it [i.e.beside ALL CAPS symbol on your lap monitor]).
Use: "ShiftKey+NumLock" (NumbLock Key: 2nd panel from Top right on keyboard)
