How do i change the AM radio to FM? - Sony CFD-S300 Radio/Cassette/CD Boombox

have the radio checked out as the band change switch is not working. Try going into the mode /menu section of the radio and adjusting it there . Changing antenna does nothing as the radio works on either band with the same antenna

The jack may be defective

not knowing what make and model your radio is i can't say 100% sure, but there should be a band button that should go from am to fm. some radios also have more than one fm selection. (fm1, fm2).

Each microphone has a different FM Freq. If you can not find a Freq there is a very small hole in the mic near the Mic switch. You will need a jewlers screwdriver to make a freq. adjustment. Hold down the applause button while very close to your FM radio. Use manual tuning on your FM radio until you hear applause. If there is a local station playing on the Freq you can insert the jewelers screwdriver into the small hole and change the FM Freq for the Mic. You only need to make "fractional adjustments" to change the Freq. setting. Once you make a mic freq. adjustment change the radio freq SLIGHTLY up and down until you hear the applause.

This should get anyone going that is having difficulty with this microphone.

To change between AM and FM push the BAND RADIO ON button on the radio or the remote. Here is a link that will allow you to view or print the manual for your radio:

this would involve basically gutting the Bose and replacing the circuts with the European market equivalent. however, since a bose contains Propriatory Hardware, it may have denied internal access. I suggest you locate a CE approved version.

mode selector switch on bars is defective

Go to device settings - FM Frequencies - select the FM 1 or FM 2 or FM 3, turn the dial to move the FM frequency to that which you want. Press the Sirius Dog to enter this frequency. That's it.

FM radio works the same way that AM radio works. The difference is in how the carrier wave is modulated, or altered. With AM radio, the amplitude, or overall strength, of the signal is varied to incorporate the sound information. With FM, the frequency (the number of times each second that the current changes direction) of the carrier signal is varied. FM signals have a great advantage over AM signals. Both signals are susceptible to slight changes in amplitude. With an AM broadcast, these changes result in static. With an FM broadcast, slight changes in amplitude don't matter -- since the audio signal is conveyed through changes in frequency, the FM receiver can just ignore changes in amplitude. The result: no static at all.

do you use the external FM antena ?
there is no software to change, yes there is a difference in the ranges on the FM waveband between US and Euro, but it should still work, however a quick call to bose bv service might be insightfull, and helpful
