Hi i have a navman f20. i can not get a gps signal, everything seems to work ok. when you put a post code in it searches for gps signal but does not find it, or if you just switch on it searches but does not find it. the last time i went out everything was ok, i returned home and switched off. when i put it back on i can't get no signal. even standing in the garden with it is the same. i have tried resetting the gps and also put it back to factory setting. i have updated the system from navman, but still can't get gps. can you please advise me.
many thanks eric

Navman in no longer offering map support for it's iCN 510. This means if there is a new road or community, this unit will not recognize it.
I am really mad
about this. I spent $400 2 years ago for something that will not have
anymore map updates. Here is there reply when I wrote to them about it.
Class action suit anyone?

Dear Henry,
Thank you for contacting Navman Technical Support.
We
do apologize for the inconvenience. Navman has decided not to release
further map updates for these device due to changes in technology over
the last year. We have changed the chipset and software platform and
are unable to update this device. The Navman 500 series was released
with an updated map version last 2005.
If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us, we'll be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,
Ofelia

I have had this problem from time to time with my F20 which I have had since May 2007. The simple solution is to turn it off and then on again and let it go through it's start up sequence. It is far better for this to be done whilst stationary.

You need to remove the 2 screews from the bottom and then gentley prize the unit apart from teh bottom using a blunt broad knife will help if you cant have the plastic case splitting tools which are used in the trade,
then once apart the same side where the power button is you will see a microsd card its the same as in a mobile phone just pull it down from the top (its hinged at the bottom) then make sure the card is in correctley and then close it back and test (b4 putting the case back on) that will fix it we ahve a lot of these coming in and its where its been dropped etc and jumps out thats it
